Greetings -

Hello Pirate family!!!! I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the summer months. We wanted to go ahead and send out some information in hopes that families are able to plan accordingly. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance.

2020-21 STAAR Results

STAAR results should be available in Skyward Family Access. The district sent out information for accessing these scores, but if you are having trouble, please let us know and we will guide you through the process.

Student Schedules

Students schedules will be released electronically in August (TBA). Our counselors are working extremely hard to try and fulfill all requests. However, there are times in which classes conflict and we wont be able to meet every request. We will continue to do our best!

In the coming days, LCISD will start the verification process. Please ensure that all information is updated and accurate. Verification must be completed and immunizations must be current in order for your child's schedule to be released. Please refer to the "note from the nurse" below.

Sixth Grade Orientation

THURSDAY, AUGUST 12

The transition to sixth grade can be overwhelming! To make sure your child has a great start to the school year, we have planned a Sixth Grade Orientation Camp exclusively for sixth grade students. Students will tour the campus, visit classrooms and teachers, and meet new friends. When they come to Orientation Camp, they will learn how LBMS operates and get information that will help them have a successful start to the new school year.

TIME

1:00-5:00 p.m.

*Drop off at the front of the building -12:30-12:45 p.m.

-pen or pencil

*A snack will be provided.

Sixth Grade Parent Meeting & Open House

THURSDAY, AUGUST 12

An informational meeting (optional) will be held in the LBMS Cafetorium from 4:15-5:00 p.m.

Open House for sixth grade students and parents will be from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to take their parents and/or guardians on a tour to meet their teachers.

7th and 8th Grade Open House

August 30

5:00-6:30 pm

Students will have the opportunity to lead their families around campus to meet their teachers. Feel free to come and go as you please. We look forward to meeting you!

**Reminder that everyone participating in pre-athletics or athletics will need an updated sports physical before participating. If you have questions concerning athletics, please contact our coordinators.

A Note from the Nurse

All seventh grade students must be up-to-date on 7th grade required vaccines (tDap & MCV) before they will receive their schedules. If you have any questions, please contact Kristy Rose, Director of Health Services at 806-863-7100 ext. 1231.
