Spartan Weekly
News from Glen Crest Middle School: April 30, 2023
From the Principal
The students will be taking their final round of MAP testing this week on Tuesday (math) and Wednesday (reading). We use these scores to look at student growth from fall to spring and to inform our school improvement efforts for next year.
We are very aware with this coming on the heels of state testing right before spring break that the students may be feeling testing fatigue, we are too! Please encourage them to do their best! Scores will be sent home at the end of the year with their report cards.
Yearbook orders are due by May 5! Yearbooks will be delivered the last day of school.
8th Grade Parents: Monday is the last day to register for Glenbard South summer school! To enroll, go to sr.glenbard.org to create an account. You will need your student's GBS ID number, which can be found with their enrollment documents. If you cannot locate this number, please email peggyann_pyle@glenbard.org. Let Ms. Maag know if you have any questions!
Extra curricular activities
Dungeons & Dragons meets Tuesday after school in the library.
Drama club meets Wednesday in Spartan Hall.
Computer club meets Thursday in room 604.

Summer construction will affect Glen Crest
Construction projects at all five CCSD 89 buildings are scheduled to begin on Friday, May 26, the day after the school year ends. It’s critical that students clean out their lockers, check the lost-and-found, and bring home medication at the end of this school year. Families will not be able to retrieve items over the summer. Families are encouraged to stay off the school’s playground equipment when construction crews are actively working at the school. A summary of the 2023 construction is available here: https://bit.ly/41siBbG More information: https://bit.ly/41AOsqE
