Principal 's Message
Character Counts at Larsen! Students and Staff had a great time with all the Character Counts and Red Ribbon activities during the month of October. We looked forward to each activity each day. It brought excitement and smiles to all.
As we begin the month of November, we had an altar for Dia de Los Muertos in our cafeteria . Students were excited and proud to remember and share loved ones that have passed.
It feels great to open our campus doors once more and have parents and the community come and celebrate with us in our learning journey. Grade levels are doing different activities to share with you. Hope to see you on campus.
It is hard to believe the first trimester is almost over. November is a very busy month. We are finishing our first trimester. Our 5th graders will be participating in the CA Healthy Kids Survey, all grades will be participating in the end of the trimester assessments, Thanksgiving Break will be here soon and parent-teacher conferences are scheduled to begin during the last week of the month. Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to you to schedule a parent teacher conference.
Thanks for being our partners in the education of our students.

Right Start…
Larsen Roadrunners, please ensure students arrive no later than 8:00 am. Arriving on time allows students to walk to line and be ready to begin their day, wait for their teachers to pick them up and be seated by 8:07 am.
Students that arrive after 8:07 are marked tardy.
Good Nutrition is Important
It is important that students begin their day with a healthy meal. We serve breakfast from 7:30 am-7:50 for grades TK-2 in the cafeteria. Grades 3-5 are served in their classrooms at 8:07 AM. Please make sure students are on time so they can enjoy their meal before teachers pick them up at 8:07 AM.

Lost and Found
We need your help! Please label your child’s sweaters and jackets. Our weather is changing and they need them for outdoor play.
We have many sweaters and jackets in the lost and found. Please have your students check if any belong to them. We will have them out on Friday in front of the office for parents to check.
Dual Language Exploration
Dual language immersion is a research-proven instructional approach that prepares students to think, read and write in two languages, resulting in students becoming bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural.
Dual Language Immersion programs are additive - meaning that a child does not lose their native language, but instead strengthens their native language plus adds a second language.
Bilingualism and biliteracy prepares students to think more broadly and critically, results in higher language arts and math achievement and increases career pathways opportunities in their adulthood.
Our staff has been researching, attending conferences, Pedagogy Institutes and been part of a Dual Language Committee to expand our knowledge and analyze if this program would be a good fit for our Larsen Community.
We are planning a parent information meeting to share this information with our Larsen Community on November 10, 2022 from 5:30 -7:00 PM in person at Larsen. We hope you can join us.
