Students and staff, overall, have enjoyed the change since the mask mandate became optional. There are still plenty of students and staff members wearing the masks as well. Things appear to be moving along very well and looking forward to the last few weeks of the school year. At this point, we are 58 days away from the last day of school. I hope everyone finishes the school year strong. For those that need to recover credits, we will be offering summer school in June. Parents, I will be sending out information in the upcoming weeks about summer school. If your child fails a class, seriously consider having them take a summer course to stay on track.
This Thursday, March 3rd is a different type of day for our students and staff. It is our "CROSSING THE DITCH" day for our 8th graders. They will be coming over during the school day to take a tour of the school and learn about programs the high school has to offer.
Our 9th/10th-grade students will be out in the community all morning doing our new community service project. We will spend about 3 hours cleaning up MADISON in several different locations.
Our 11th graders will be taking the SAT all morning on Thursday. Most of our seniors get to sleep in and get to come to campus around 1:05 for their school day. Please note, seniors if you have a dual-enrolled course (taught by an ITCC professor) you still need to attend their class at the normal time, unless they have told you differently.
Thursday evening is our CUB FEST. 8th-grade parents, there will be a parent meeting at 5:30 in the HS auditorium. You can enter through the auditorium doors and doors 4 and 9. From 6 to 7:30 any 8th grade through an 11th-grade parent that would like to come over to meet with teachers may do so in the HS cafeteria. ALL teachers will be available to discuss next year's classes and the programs we have to offer. Please take advantage of our CUB FEST evening.
