LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Colton Elementary Families and Friends,
I can't believe that September is almost over! The weather is changing and the fall season is here.
I want you to know that it is a pleasure having your students in school. I truly enjoy watching them grow physically and mentally. They are doing some wonderful things in their classrooms. Thank you for the time and energy you invest in your children. I expect great things from them, and as a staff, we will do our best to meet their intellectual and emotional needs.
As you are aware, we are entering into the cold and flu season. As a school, we are committed to exercising healthy and safe practices. If your child is sick and not feeling well, please keep them home until they are symptom free. This will help mitigate the spread of germs. Our goal is to keep our schools open for children to experience a "true" educational experience.
Thank you for all you do for our children and our school. As parents and guardians, you are an essential part of your children's home and school life. Please reach out to your teachers if you have any questions regarding classroom concerns.
Nelson Mandela said, "I never lose. I either win or learn." I have taken the liberty to change that statement as a motto for our school children. We don't fail, we either succeed or we learn.
Here's to a successful 2023-24 school year!
Respectfully,
Mario Alba
Principal
CES SITE COUNCIL
Colton Elementary School is looking for a parent/guardian for our CES Site Council Committee. The Site Council meets between 4-6 times a year to discuss the development and implementation of professional growth for school's staff and improvement of student instructional programs. If this is something you might be interested in volunteering for, please contact Shannon at earlss@colton.k12.or.us.
School Picture Day

Chromebook Contract Information
A district-wide Chromebook Contract must be submitted to continue using chromebooks in our classrooms. Every classroom has a full set of chromebooks, and students will be using them throughout the year. Students and parents need to sign this contract, to help ensure responsible and respectful behavior. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Mrs. Wagner at wagnerc@colton.k12.or.us
Please note: Since our elementary students don't take chromebooks home, insurance is not necessary.
