Hello MacArthur Parents!

We hope this newsletter finds you well! Our students continue to show remarkable improvement each day, thanks to the hard work of our dedicated teachers and supportive parents.

Student Success and State Exams Preparation:

TELPAS testing is just around the corner. Teachers are supporting students with great strategies in the classroom. The state exam focuses on language acquisition, specifically assessing how students are learning English as their second language in the areas of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. In order to further prepare and support our 3rd - 8th grade Scholars, we are providing additional support the next three Saturday's from 8:30 - 10:30. We care for our students and their progress and hold high expectations for their achievements. We believe in fostering a supportive environment where students feel motivated and empowered.

Parents play an essential role in student academic growth. Setting goals with your scholar will help them feel supported and make you a part of the process. Below please find a template to help guide your goal setting conversation. Looking forward to learning about your goals.

Go Ponies!

We continue to see an increase in Tardies. We ask for parent support with helping our scholars arrive to school on time.

All Ponies are expected to be in class on time. Drop off begins at 7:15 a.m. We kindly ask that you do not drop off your child prior to this time as we do not have staff on duty. The first bell rings at 7:30 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m.

Instruction begins at 7:50 a.m.

Thank you parents for joining us for our TELPAS informational sessions. We are going to continue to reach out to our parents to provide opportunities to learn more about how their child has performed on TELPAS and requirements to reclassify. Looking forward to continued goal setting and support for academic language growth this year.

Students must keep their cell phones and phone watch turned off and in their backpacks from 7:15 am to 3:00 pm. In case of an emergency, students will be allowed to make phone calls from the office. Please read district policy below.
