FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
Thank you to all who were able to participate in our Virtual Spirit Week! It was so wonderful to come together via our Spirit Week Padlet and share the many ways we can express our Fr. Doyle pride even when we're forced to be apart!
Today marks the conclusion of our fifth week of distance learning and the start of our April Break! A tremendous thank you to all of our community members who have worked so hard to make the last five weeks possible. I would ask you kindly take a few moments to complete our Week Five Distance Learning Survey. Your comments and feedback continue to help us improve and enhance our distance learning practices. Thank you!
Also, in order to continually improve communication between home and school, I will be holding Principal's Office Hours via Zoom starting on Tuesday, April 28th at 8:00am. These meetings will be similar to Breakfast with the Principal and provide an opportunity for any interested parents or community members to share thoughts, ideas, questions, and concerns. For security reasons, I cannot share the Zoom meeting information publicly here; however, if you sign up via the Google Form here, I will email you all of the necessary meeting information.
Over the break, I would encourage you to review the first edition of the Savvy Saint with your student(s). It includes many helpful tips & tricks for successful distance learning, and it can be found attached below under Forms and Important Documents. If you'd like a humorous take on the Savvy Saint, check out the first video edition of the Savvy Saint News!
While we continue to assess the need to adapt and/or postpone a wide variety of upcoming events, the PTO remains hard at work planning for the weeks ahead. Firstly, the PTO sent out an email about Teacher Appreciation yesterday. If you did not receive the email, please contact the PTO at fjvdpto@fjvd.org. In addition, the PTO will be holding a Zoom meeting for all interested parents to discuss plans for upcoming events on Wednesday, April 29th at 6pm. More information will be provided soon!
One last important reminder: if your child is not able to attend to virtual learning due to a medical appointment, illness, or other family emergency, please contact the school via phone (401-821-3756) and let Mrs. Jarvis know. You can also leave a message on the school answering machine. Thank you!
Finally, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very restful and peaceful break. While I know that this is certainly not how any of us envisioned our April Vacation, it nonetheless provides us with an opportunity to relax, reflect, and spend time with one another as we prepare for the weeks ahead. Thank you for your patience, dedication, and willingness to learn over the past five weeks. It has been a privilege to serve this community during these particularly challenging times.
God bless and Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Upcoming Dates and Reminders
Enrollment Contracts - Due May 15th
In addition, the $200 per student Enrollment Fee due with the contract is being reduced to $100 per student through May 15th.
Please note, the enrollment fee is rolled into tuition and credited directly towards tuition payments. It is not an additional fee. Thus, if you have already submitted your Enrollment Contract and paid the enrollment fee of $200, your overall tuition for 2020-2021 has been credited $200.00. Going forward, those paying the $100.00 reduced enrollment fee will have their tuition for 2020-2021 credited only $100.00.
With current social distancing efforts in place, we kindly request that you mail enrollment contracts to the school with payment, or, if preferred, scan the contract and email to patriciajarvis@fjvd.org and mail your payment separately.

- The school earns a percentage discount offered by participating stores.
For each $50.00 you spend, you get a stamp on your Tuition Discount Card. Fill the entire card and redeem it for a $75.00 check!

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
