Craig Parents and Community,
Each year the Craig community has the opportunity to vote for two new members to the Craig Local School Council as two previous members complete their term. This year we have three great candidates. Please review their bios, then click the link to cast your vote. Voting ends at noon on Friday, May 19th. As always, thank you for your support of Craig Elementary School.
Briyanah Miller
Hello Colt Family!
My name is Briyanah Miller, and I am the proud parent of two children: Roman, a rising first-grader at Craig Elementary, and Laila, a rising freshman at Brookwood High School. I have worked from home as a Business & Integration Architecture Specialist for Accenture for 9 years which has allowed me to be hands-on and active in the community and with both of my children. I have volunteered at Craig Elementary, and I am proud of our school and grateful that our children have such amazing resources. As a product of public schools, I know first-hand that our public schools can produce students who succeed in the most challenging academic environments, and I am dedicated to ensuring that Craig Elementary prepares our children for a lifetime of academic success. I hope you will consider me for this future position and look forward to continuing to serve our school
Heydi Perez
My name is Heydi Perez, I’m very honored for this opportunity. I moved 3 years ago to the county, and one of the reasons that we move to the Flowers Crossing neighborhood was that we wanted a great school, were my kids could have the best education possible. I’m married to Gustavo Bautista, and we have 3 kids. I’ll have a rising 5th grader and a 3rd grader, and we are very blessed to be part of this amazing school. I have a teaching degree, and I work as a paralegal with an Immigration attorney. For us is very important to be involved in our kids’ education and school activities. We believe that the more we get involve, the more we can help the school, and the staff who are doing so much for the kids. By having this opportunity, it means a lot to me, because for us the education and safety of our kids it’s a priority. I know for sure that is for every parent, and I would do the best and beyond to make sure that I support in every single way I can to serve our school.
Marianne Ulloa
My name is Marianne Ulloa, and I am excited for this opportunity to support as one of Craig's representatives on the school council. My son, Roman, is a rising 4th grader, and my daughter, Mila, will be moving on to Crews next year. We moved to the community in March 2022 from NYC, and we have been so pleased with the experience that my children have had here, and I am now eager to take my knowledge and skills to listen to, and amplify the voice of all Craig families. My work has been grounded in talent and equity in service of organizations that lead the charge in bridging the education gap. In my work, I have taught in NYC public schools (years ago!) and then spent a lot of time in the non profit arena in youth development and education reform supporting organizational effectiveness, leadership, and program development for teachers, aspiring principals, youth, families, and community based organizations. One of the most rewarding experiences I have had was when I was a Co-President of my childrens former charter school Parent Community Organization during COVID. We worked closely with the school leaders during this time to ensure that our school community had its needs heard, understood, and met within the best of our ability. All that to say, I am passionate about educational equity, and lead from a place of fairness - and these attributes would make me a strong candidate for school council.

Transportation 2023-2024
In an effort to prepare for your child’s transportation needs for the 2023-2024 school year please read the important information below.
Buses are the fastest and most efficient way for your child to get home from school. Buses dismiss from Craig Elementary beginning at 2:45p. Students in K must be met by an adult at their bus stop. You will find specifics regarding bus stops and times in either the Parent Portal or in eClass under Student Vue. For both of these, you will find bus information under the Student Info tab. If your student is new to GCPS, please contact the school for specific bus information.
If your student will be a Bus rider to home, there is no need to complete any forms.
Car Riders, Walkers or Day Care
If they will be a Car rider, Walker or ride a Day Care bus, please complete the Alternate Transportation Parent Authorization form attached. Leave the Teacher name blank and use their RISING grade, not their current grade. Please email completed forms to Kimberly.Ordaz@gcpsk12.org by May 15th for the 2023-24 school year.
All car riders must have a Craig ES window cling displayed to pick up students in the Car Rider line. Any person in the Car Rider line without a cling will be asked to park and go to the front desk to check out their student, with photo ID, and purchase a cling. Clings should be displayed on the upper passenger side of the windshield. Car rider numbers are assigned one number per family, not per student, and will be used for the entire time your family is at Craig ES. Clings are 2 for $2 and can be purchased on MyPaymentsPlus, pickup will be arranged before the beginning of the school year. After your initial purchase of 2, additional ones can be purchased from the Front Office for $1 each, cash only. The Car Rider line opens at dismissal, 2:45p.
If your child attends a Day Care, you will need to submit a verification form along with your transportation change form. Although we cannot endorse any individual facility, a list of day care facilities that provide transportation to and from our school can be found in the Day Care section of the Transportation page on our website.
For more information on School Transportation please visit our website or contact Kimberly Ordaz, Kimberly.Ordaz@gcpsk12.org, 770-978-5560.
No Lunch Visitors on Mondays please - Thank you.
