Welcome to our pilot newsletter for Region 3. With the goal of streamlining communication for our members, this newsletter will include charter updates, upcoming dates, resources and other helpful information. If you have ideas or suggestions, please send them to acsaregion3@gmail.com.

Charter Happenings

Yolo Charter

The Yolo ACSA Charter has a new email! This email is a great way to communicate Charter, Region and State ACSA information to our members. If you have questions regarding the Yolo ACSA Charter, please do not hesitate to reach out to yoloacsacharter@gmail.com. Please watch for emails regarding Charter events. The Yolo ACSA Charter wishes all administrators a very happy and healthy 2021!

Folsom-Cordova Charter

FCLA’s professional development subcommittee shares events happening in ACSA, through the county, and any other PD of interest. Several members attended Dr. Sharroky Hollie’s Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Teaching PD from September through November. Several FCLA members have been attending the Soulful Conversations put on by the Region 3 equity work group. Many are attending the ACSA lunch time conversations and other available events (support from R3 for example).

North Charter

Once again, we were excited with the number of nominations North Charter received for ESS. It is amazing what our students are overcoming to ensure they are doing their best during distance learning. We were able to have a drive thru pick up dinner for each nominee and their family. It was a great event and we did what we could considering we were not able to have our annual dinner.

We look forward to having guest speakers this semester to focus on social emotional learning and we are also in discussion to start a book club!

San Juan AC

SJAC members nominated twenty-three students for Every Student Succeeding. These students will be recognized by SJAC in February 2021 via a Zoom celebration. Students will receive an award and a prize pack which includes a custom-engraved water bottle made by San Juan Unified students.

Taking Time to BREATHE:

Come socialize and engage in a workshop where you will walk away with simple research-based practices from the fields of Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, Emotional Intelligence, and Social Psychology, that they can utilize with yourself, your teams and your students to strengthen overall well-being.

4/12 - 4/13 Leg Action Day

Legislative Action Day brings ACSA members together in Sacramento for a two-day advocacy event. ACSA staff, along with experts in the field, provide members with briefings and guidance on current issues in education, offering members the tools and opportunity to direct lobby the Legislature.
