We are so excited to be gearing up for the new school year in just a few days. Please take a few moments if you have not already done so to fill out our volunteer interest form. This form is a way for us to connect with you when events are upcoming and provide assistance as needed either with planning, execution, or even donations. It will give you the option to sign up to help before the information is released to the rest of the school. Please know filling out this form in no way obligates you to help with the event.

We have a handful of ways you can help out our PTO in the upcoming month. Please take a look at those opportunities below.

Please save the date for our first PTO meeting on Monday September 11th- PTO meeting in room A101 as well as a zoom option. Please know that there will be childcare provided by the Manheim Central Interact Club during the meeting.

Please be sure to submit your volunteer clearances if you are interested in helping in the classroom or chaperoning a field trip.

Many clearances are expiring this year if you submitted them in 2018. If you are unsure, please call the office and we can let you know.

All information should be updated in the system by September 8th.

If your child will be changing their afternoon transportation - please send in a note with child's first and last name, teacher name and what they are doing. We receive many notes each day and there are many children with the same first name so we want to be sure we have the right child going to the right place.

Transportation does not allow transportation for "play dates" - these would have to be arranged after school, or they may be car riders.

A reminder that we need permission (notes) from BOTH parents - the one sending and the one receiving.

Important Information: Tuesday, September 26, 2023 - CLASS COMPOSITE INCLUDED IN PREMIUM, PLUS & STANDARD PACKAGES ONLY. COMPOSITES AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE SEPARATELY ONLINE. RETAKES WILL BE INCLUDED ON CLASS COMPOSITE AND DELIVERED AT A LATER DATE.

• Arrival time is 7:15 AM. Our learners can be dropped off between 7:15 AM and 7:35 AM. All buses arrive at school between these times. The late bell rings at 7:45 AM.
• After arrival, all learners will be brought to the gym and taken to their designated class location. After the first day of school, learners will be assisted to a designated place within the building at their arrival. The teachers will pick the learners up at 7:35 AM.
• A light breakfast will be served on the first day of school. Breakfast will be served on all remaining days between 7:15 AM and 7:35 AM.
• Car rider drop off/pick-up - these procedures will remain the same as the previous two years. Please follow the posted signs and make sure you stay out of the designated bus lanes.
• Lunch - please refer to the MC Website under Departments-Food Service for menus. We will also put them in the newsletter each month.
• Breakfast is FREE again this year for all learners and full-priced Lunch is $2.70. You may apply for Free/Reduced lunches on our website (Food Services). Please note - breakfast AND lunch will be free for all free/reduced learners.
• Volunteers have been arranged through the PTO to assist with arrival/dismissal/lunch for the first two weeks of school.
• Dismissal Times- The first 3 days of school we will start dismissal 10 minutes early to help ensure the children are on the right buses. While this doesn't necessarily mean they will be home 10 minutes early, we do encourage you to be at the bus stop early just in case. Normal dismissal times - Wave 1 at 2:05, Wave 2 at 2:10, Car Riders at 2:15.

Manheim Central School District has implemented a visitor management software program. The name of this program is School Gate Guardian. Visitors/volunteers will be asked to present a valid driver’s license or other state-issued identification upon entering a District building. The ID will be scanned and checked against the sexual offender database. Visitors who have the all clear will receive a printed ID badge that includes their photo and name. Identification will be required for all visitors to access the building.

Volunteering at MCSD:

Manheim Central School District values unique contributions made by parents and community volunteers to the educational programs of the school district. In an effort to ensure the safety of our students, the district has established a volunteer policy that requires certain documentation for all its volunteers.

Pennsylvania law requires students to have updated immunizations. All learners entering grades K, 7, 12 are required to have immunizations prior to the start of school. The deadline to submit all updated immunization records is October 31st. It is important that you provide the school with a copy of the updated immunization record as soon as possible. Information on free immunization clinics for those who do not have insurance coverage can be found on the district website. Contact the school nurse with any questions. The deadline to submit all updated immunization records is October 31 in order to avoid exclusion from school.

Alternate Transportation Form - this form needs to be completed each year if your child is being bussed anywhere other than home at the end of the day.

Kindergarten Waiver Bus Form - This form needs to be completed for anyone picking up a Kindergartener off the bus who is not the learner's parent or guardian.
