FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
What a week it has been at Father Doyle School! Our Grammar Soccer Team competed admirably in the first round of the CAL soccer playoffs, our annual Field Day Festivities kicked off (see photos below!), and tonight we begin our celebration of the FJVD Class of 2021 with our annual 8th Grade Dinner. As this year comes to a close, there is so much to be thankful for, and I am grateful to be spending these days immersed in these wonderful community events.
A reminder that, due to weather, Field Day for our PK, K and 1 students has been postponed to Thursday, June 10th.
As mentioned previously, we are incredibly blessed to share that our Annual Auction raised over $20,000! These funds will be utilized to finish our Outdoor Multi-Sport Court, including NBA-regulation basketball hoops, volleyball and pickle ball sets, and fencing around the exterior of the court. Additional funds will be utilized for continued textbook enhancements, which have already begun across the grade levels! Please see the PDF below and image at right thanking our many donors and supporters. We are so grateful!
Please see additional announcements below, thank you!
Returning Chromebooks & Library Books
Mrs. Adamo will be collecting Chromebooks and Library Books during tech/library classes next week. Please be sure your child brings their Chromebook and charger to school next week, as well as any library books. Families will be contacted if there are any concerns regarding damages. If students need Chromebooks for school work after the collection period, they will be stored at the school and made available to students on an as-needed basis.
Last Day of After Care / Last Day of School
Please note the last day for After School Care will be Friday, June 11th. There will be no after school care on Monday, June 14th - Wednesday, June 16th. In addition, please note that the last day of school, Wednesday, June 16th, will be a half day, with dismissal at 11:30am.

Probable Cases & Testing Procedures
The Department of Health has released additional resources for families regarding how to proceed if your child has symptoms at home or becomes ill at school. You can find the RIDOH Resources for Families here. Please note, if your child is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 that indicate a probable case, please call 844-857-1814 from 7:30am-9:30pm seven days a week to schedule a test through the K-12 Testing Network. You should also notify the school as soon as possible.
If your child is experiencing symptoms and is being tested, two tests will be conducted at the K-12 testing site - a rapid test with results within 24 hours, and a PCR test with results within 48 hours. Please note, students are not permitted to return to school until both tests are negative and symptoms have resolved. In addition, families must complete the After Illness Return Attestation Form which can also be found on the homepage of our school website under "Important Links."
A reminder that our hybrid learning policies for students absent due to illness or quarantine can be found in the quick reference guide here.

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
