Good Morning Hawk Families! My name is Brett Kosidowski, and I am the head coach of the Dakota United Soccer (CI) Program. I am hoping this message reaches all who need it, and those who don’t need it anymore, please let me know and I will take you off of our list.
On this email, there is information for BRAND NEW HAWK FAMILIES, about who we are, and a little bit of information about the Hawk Seasons and Opportunities. More information will come out each week as well from this email address.
We have a brand new website with all the information you need for the season including Schedules, Contact Information, and most importantly REGISTRATION LINK to MyPaymentsPlus and beyond. This year, we have combined Registration and Transportation information into one handy-dandy process, let me know if you need help completing this. Your child MUST have a physical on file at their school from within the past 3 years to complete registration.
If you are registering through a different district outside of ISD 196, please contact your school’s Athletic Director to ensure that you have transportation and registration set up through them.

Who Are The Dakota United Hawks?
The Dakota Hawks are an Adapted Athletics Team from District 196 that plays in the Minnesota State High School League sanctioned sports of Soccer (Fall), Floor Hockey (Winter) and Softball (Spring). Students are eligible to play from 7th-12th grade on any or all of these teams provided they have a qualifying need. In addition to the regular physical activity and healthy competition, this is a fantastic way for student-athletes to meet new friends for 6 YEARS if they begin to play in 7th grade! Parents tend to form a tight-knit, positive and supportive community as well while they enjoy the camaraderie of being a part of our successful program! Games and practices are typically held 3-4 times per week during the season.
Practice/Game Info:
Practices and Games are held at HOPE Fieldhouse in Rosemount. Transportation is provided to practice and away games. Practices are typically 2 days/week from 3:15-4:30 PM. Games are 1-2 days/week and they last from 4:30-5:45 PM.
Items To Complete Before Season Begins on September 11:
-Sports Physical on File at School – Once completed, it’s good for 3 years.
-REGISTRATION and TRANSPORTATION (NEW) – Register through your home school on the MYPAYMENTSPLUS website, and complete registration and transportation in one clean sign up process.

Families Encouraged to Purchase iPad Protection Plan
District 196 offers an optional Protection Plan to families for $20 per iPad to cover the cost of potential theft and damage throughout the school year. The plan is free for students eligible for the Educational Benefits Program, so it is recommended that parents and guardians complete that application first. The Educational Benefits application is available at District196.org; select Services from the main menu, then Nutrition Services.
All families are asked to review and acknowledge the iPad Student User Agreement and either accept or decline the optional Protection Plan by Sept. 18, 2023. Until that date, the district will cover damages (not loss) to allow families time to complete the review and sign-up process. After Sept. 18, until the Protection Plan is accepted, the family is responsible for any costs associated with loss or damage of the iPad as defined in the Protection Plan details.
Families can accept the Protection Plan at any time throughout the school year by logging into their MyPaymentsPlus account, searching for “iPad” and selecting the desired option to accept or decline the protection plan. Both options ask to review and acknowledge the Student User Agreement. For directions on using MyPaymentsPlus or creating an account, go to District196.org, select Community from the main menu, then Family Resources. For assistance, families should contact their child’s school.
