Have you heard from your child's teachers?

Education is a partnership between between the student, the parents, and the teachers. For this partnership to be successful, there needs to be a lot of communication between all three. Have you heard from your student's teachers?


There are different ways teachers will communicate with you: phone calls, text message, emails, Blackboard calls, notes home, and grades.


If you aren't hearing from your student's teachers or have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can call the school, email the teacher, send a note, schedule a meeting, or any number of ways to open the lines of communication.


We want your child to be successful. We need to communicate about your child's needs and make sure that everyone is on the same page.

No vaping

It is now a mandatory punishment for students with vapes at school. Please talk to your student about the harmful effects of vaping and the mandatory discipline they will receive.

Backpack Update!

We have handed out over 400 string backpacks. We have more on order but don't have any on hand to hand out.


Please make sure your student isn't bringing a large backpack to school. There is no need for the large bag. Students no longer have textbooks, just the MacBook.


If your child is in athletics, the coaches have access to lockers. Your student needs to talk to their coach if they need to keep a change of clothes at school.

Students learn better without distractions!

William James MS is a No Cell Phone Zone!


We have confiscated a lot of phones lately. Please stress to your child that they DO NOT NEED their phones in class. If they come to school with a phone, they need to power it off when they arrive and leave it that way all day.


If you need to talk with your child during the day, please call the front office. We would be happy to deliver your message or have them call you back.

School start time is 9 am. Please have your child here by 8:45 am to eat breakfast and be ready for class to begin at 9.
