Tiger Feedback
January 12, 2024
Park Family,
Thank you for a quality first week of 2024! We appreciate you taking the challenge of continuing on the path of improvement as we seek to become a better school by improving as individuals and collectively as an organization.
It is empowering for all of us to know the truth, we all can grow and learn. This is a fundamental belief that we must instill in ourselves and our Tigers. The big question is, "Are we going to take on the challenge of improvement through working hard, IMPLEMENTING evidence-based strategies that we have been trained on, and respond well to feedback?"
It is important to take on the challenge of improvement because it not only impacts us as individuals, but it impacts our Tigers and our Park Family. When we decided to become an educator, it is implied in our role that we are lifelong learners and that we will constantly be working at improving our craft. The reason being is that our kids change every year! We have to adjust to the needs of our kids.
I thank you in advance for investing in yourself, our Tigers, and our Park Family! I am looking forward to seeing the growth in the Spring 2024 Semester!
Chris
Celebrations
We are thankful for the leadership and support of our campus police, Officer Lively and Officer Diaz. They are true professionals and are highly effective in their service to our campus and community. We are blessed to have them as part of The Park Family! Be sure to thank them for all they do for us!
Nikolas Macedo finished second in the 215 pound class of the 2024 CFISD Wrestling Invitational. This is one of the largest invitations in the country with 80 boys' teams and 78 girls' teams from across the state of Texas. We are super proud of Nik and our Park Wrestling Team! Congratulations Coach Hardin and Coach Perro!
Thank you for an effective professional development day on Friday, January 5! We appreciate our presenters in the Family Meeting: Toni Galvan, Carrie Moore, Justin Nichols, and Crystal Romanelli. We appreciate the collaboration of the Departments and Teams. Continue to take those daily steps to meet your personal and professional goals.
Thank you for the effective execution of our Safety Drills this week. For our Lockdown drill, we simulated an active shooter scenario with collaboration between our CFPD Officers Lively and Diaz along with our Assistant Principal Team.
Please be sure that you are at your doors during every passing period starting at least by 7:10 AM. Continue to be vigilant and if you see something, say something.....safety first!

Upcoming
On Monday we celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is my hope that Cypress Park is a place where we work toward his "dream." We aim to serve and lead ALL Tigers as we seek to promote Unity within CommUnity. Ubuntu, the African phrase, "I am because we are" is critical for us to understand and life out.
Please stay tuned on Monday for information regarding possible changes to our school schedule. Our District will be closely monitoring weather and road conditions and will communicate any changes via local news and the website.
It is A POSSIBILITY that we will implement a "delayed start." Again, this is a possibility! If the district issues a Delayed Start this will be our schedule:
- 9:15 AM Start of School with 3rd period
- We will follow the regular schedule from 3rd - 7th period
Stay safe and warm!
On Wednesday, January 17, we will have a Senior Class meeting starting at 12:45 PM. We apologize for cutting into some of 6th period, but this will be a detailed meeting including representatives from Balfour. Senior Teachers, please reference the email from Ms. Ellis on January 9 at 4:46 PM.
Remember that our Fire Marshall will be inspecting our campus on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Be ready!

I am encouraging you to stick with the healthy habits that you are looking to incorporate into your daily routine. If you fail one day, forgive yourself, and get started the next day. Progress, not perfection, is the goal!
Have a great weekend!
