Mrs Joy Tiong, is leaving us at the end of the term to take up a position in Christchurch. Joy and her husband are moving down to Christchurch to take up opportunities presented to them. We have absolutely loved having Joy as a member of our taff and school community these past two and a half years. Joy has a passion for teaching children and will be sorely missed. We wish her and her husband all the very best for the future.

Ms Kirsty Huta, is leaving us after nine years of valued service to IPS to take up a position in Hawke's Bay. Kirsty is a highly valued member of our staff and school community, especially working within our He Awhi Taonga Team. Kirsty has made a huge impact on many, many lives over her time here at IPS. We will miss her drive, enthusiasm, care, and laughter - she will be sorely missed. We wish her all the very best for the future.

We currently have 97 students who have not returned their Internet Forms to the office. These have repeatedly been sent home to be signed along with a letter. If these forms are not returned your child will be in danger of losing access to school devices.

Our Kaiako have been working hard on various assessment and discussion in readiness to report to you as parents. The reports will be sent home Thursday 29 June. Our Student Led conferences will take place in Term 3 Wednesday 26 July 3:15 - 4:45 and then again Thursday 27 July from 1200 - 8pm.

Please note when booking, there is a different code for Wednesday and Thursday.

Each booking is 15 minutes long. Please ensure you arrive on time to each booking.

Booking your interviews

The booking website will open Monday, 19 June at 12:30 PM, and will close Wednesday, 26 July at 12:30 PM.

1. Go to https://parentinterviews.co.nz/book/go/XFPV6YPX

1. Enter your name, contact information, and the names of the students you wish to make bookings for.
2. Select the teachers you'd like to book by ticking the checkbox beside their name, and then click the Book Interviews button at the bottom of the page.
3. Using the timetable, click the Book button beside the time slot you'd like to book for the teacher. You'll be asked to confirm your booking.
4. Continue until you've made bookings for every teacher you'd like to see.

Once you're finished, you can view your timetable by clicking My Interviews at the top of the page. You can also print a copy of your timetable to take to the event.

Before your bookings you'll receive an email reminder containing your timetable. If you need to cancel any bookings, you can do so by following the link in the email you received when you first signed up.

Thank you for parking up and letting your children walk along Miro or Kelly Street in and from school. This is of huge benefit at our crucial times in the morning and afternoon, which help to reduce the traffic in and out of the gate.

The work on the new car park is progressing and we are excited to see the development this past week. Please speak with your children and make sure they are mindful of the trucks and diggers accessing the site just inside the Blue gates.

Enrolment at Inglewood School is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available on the school website or from the school office.

The board is now inviting applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Inglewood Primary School starting within Term 3 2023.

All applications must be received by 3pm Monday 26 June for Term 3 2023. If a ballot for out of zone places is required, it will be held on Wednesday 28 June 2023. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.

The board has determined that ten places from Year 1-2, five places year 3 - 4 and five Year 5 - 8 positions, .are likely to be available for out-of-zone students within Term 3 2023. Be aware these numbers may change. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone. Parents of students who live within the home zone and intend enrolling their child at any time during the year should notify the school to assist the school to plan appropriately.

The application form for enrolment is available from the school website, or from the school office.

Please note, that if the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.

Details relating to the next enrolment period Term 4 2023 will be published September 2023.

If you or you know of anyone, wishing to enrol their child at Inglewood Primary School over 2023 2024 or beyond, please get them to email the Office with the child's name, date of birth, parent's name and contact number, so we can put them on our pre-enrolment list. We are delighted to share that Inglewood Primary School are participating in the Ikura | Manaakitia te whare tangata - period products in schools initiative.

Ikura (periods) are a fact of life for half the population. Through this initiative, the Ministry of Education is providing period products (pads and tampons) to support students in managing their ikura. We will have products available for students to use at school and to take home.

We hope that providing access to period products will help to reduce barriers to accessing education.

The Taranaki Toy Library is holding this year’s Children’s MONSTER Book Sale on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th September. On their behalf, we will be collecting any good quality second hand children’s books (suitable for ages 0-13) starting after the school holidays. The holidays are the perfect time to have the children go through their bookshelves, sorting out books that they have outgrown. If you have any unwanted books that you wish to donate, please drop these off to the school office from week 1 of Term 3. Please do not include colouring-in or activity books unless they are in new condition.
