Congratulations to Mrs. Stone's students on leading their first Mass today. We enjoyed your guiding us in prayer and in song and look forward to your doing it again next year as first graders.
April 27, 2023
Dear families,
Many of this week's gospel readings carry reminders of Jesus being "the bread of life." As I read those words, I couldn't help but think of our second grade students who received First Communion last Sunday and those that are waiting to receive the Body of Christ this coming weekend. This is truly an exciting time for our second graders. Some of them received their first school Mass Communion today, and Mrs. Stone's kindergartners did an outstanding job leading that Mass.
Our second graders are experiencing the greatest gift Jesus has provided them with, His Holy Body. How fortunate we are here at St. Patrick Catholic School to have Mrs. Schmitz prepare our students for their First Holy Communion. She has helped our students to eagerly anticipate the experience each time they encounter Jesus in Holy Communion. Here at St. Patrick Catholic School, we strive to keep our students looking forward to receiving Holy Communion as frequently as possible. Just as eager as our second graders are, we should remain that eager as adults. What a wonderful way to be close to Jesus on a regular basis.
Blessings,
Mr. Wiebers
FAITH
It is a joy that Fr. Ivan prepares such interactive homilies for our students. Ask you children how they joined in. If they need some prompting, ask about the story of the three little pigs and what their role was.
