First Grade Newsletter
Week of 10/16-10/20
Conference Week Reminders:
This week is conference week! We are so excited to meet with each of you to discuss your child/children's progress! Please remember that this week is early dismissal. Students will be dismissed at 1:15pm.
Conferences will be held in your students' classroom unless you need a translator. Families who are in need of a translator will be directed towards the cafeteria. DLI families all of your conferences will be held in your student's classroom.
Please try your hardest to make the scheduled conference time with your teacher and to be on time so that you, or other families are not having to wait. Due to the volume of students and conferences, it is difficult for us to reschedule last minute.

Fact Families: fact families are related addition and subtraction facts that use the same numbers. Fact families help kids understand the relationship between addition and subtraction. For example, using the numbers 8, 5, and 13, students can produce two addition number sentences and 2 related subtraction sentences.
See the fact family and video below.
5 + 8 = 13
8 + 5 = 13
13 - 5 = 8
13 - 8 = 5
