MAY 2023
Principal's Message
Dear Families,
As we head into the second week of May, things are really kicking into high gear with activities and end of year celebrations. Please pay attention to information that is being communicated to you as there are many events coming up between now and the end of the school year.
It all started yesterday with our second grade students going to The Southwick Zoo in Mendon. From all reports, our students had a great time and were very respectful. We are very proud of our second grade students! I would also like to thank our staff and the parent chaperones who also helped make this trip a great success. It is truly exciting to not only have field trips again but also to have parents back in the school and helping with the education of our children.
A big thank you to thank the Charlton PTO who hosted an incredible Carnival here at the school last month. There were games in the gym, face painting, a photo booth, food in the cafeteria and raffles. I enjoyed spending time with the student and his friends who won the raffle "Lunch with Mr. Olson". I could not believe the amount of people who came to enjoy this event. Our PTO is an extremely valuable asset to the school. We are grateful they run events like this as well as support our field trips.

Volunteers Needed
Hello Heritage School Family Members!
Field Day is almost here and we are getting really excited here at Heritage School. I would like to ask for volunteers to help make field day a success for our students. The students are really looking forward to having a fun day! Field day will be Wednesday, June 7, 2023 (rain date Thursday, June 8, 2023).
ALL volunteers must have a current CORI check on file with the Heritage School office. To obtain a CORI form, please stop into the office as soon as
possible to fill out a form and provide identification. Even if you have a CORI
certification with another organization, you will still need a certification from DCRSD.

Congratulations to Mrs. Hurley!
Our own grade 2 teacher extraordinaire, Mrs. Elizabeth Hurley was among the honored educators!
Disneyland took the time to put teachers from across the United States in a spotlight celebration, and recognize their creative and innovative pursuits.
100 elementary, middle and high school teachers from 39 different states were selected from more than 7900 applicants. These teachers were invited to take part in a Disney Imagination Campus workshop experience, learning lessons led by Disney leaders, Imagineers and other special entertainment experiences.
The teachers were chosen based on their demonstration of the spirit of creativity and imagination in their classrooms and their ability to inspire students.
Take a moment to thank a teacher today.
Congratulations!
