Celebrating our 25th year of entertaining audiences with incredible singing, music, and dance, this year's production will showcase some of our favorites since 1997. Parents of AP Test Takers: FCCLA is sponsoring a Treat your AP test taker after their testing session to a Test Treat! You can place an order for a special note and candy treat for your student when they complete their test each day for just $3.00 per test. You can order multiple Test Treats based on how many AP tests your student is taking.

Every Wednesday students can benefit from an opportunity for academic support from 2:45pm – 4:15pm in the Learning Commons. Students are supported to complete their schoolwork learning in a supervised setting. Faculty and staff are available along with upper-class peer tutors (especially skilled in Mathematics). Students will identify their priorities (“What I Need” or “What’s Important Now”), create a plan for the most efficient use of their time, celebrate their accomplishments, and leave with a plan for continued success. Students do not need to sign up in advance for WIN Time. We do ask that students plan to be there for the start at 2:45pm so they can benefit from the full support. We will keep a log of students and their engagement (arrival/departure time and their focus/work while they are there). For students needing transportation home, activity buses will be available departing at 5:15pm.

The final day of Quarter 3 is Friday, April 8.

Students in District 196 will be provided breakfast and lunch at no cost during the 2021-22 school year due to a grant provided by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. All families are still encouraged to complete an Educational Benefits Application, formerly the free and reduced-price meals application. Upon approval, these benefits are extended to Activities/Athletics fees and more. A new application must be submitted each year.

Senior Families: Graduation is 46 days away! How's your checklist coming?

1. Grad Fee was due on Friday, April 15th. $40 fee is payable on MyPaymentsPlus. Students with Educational Benefits have this fee waived, but still need to complete the checkout process in MyPaymentsPlus.

2. Keep watching this space in the Announcements for up-to-date information about graduation and the all-night grad party. You can also check out the Senior Information page on our website.

Celebrate your Senior with a custom poster that is hung up in the Eastview halls the last week of school and for the senior party! They can then bring them home and use them at a grad party as well! These posters can be ordered created through Cornerstone Printing or you can hand make them and have them laminated at Cornerstone. See attached flyer (more info to come in the parent emails).

The 2022 All-Night Senior Party is a chemical-free lock-in at EVHS on June 4, 2022 from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am. Students will enjoy a night filled with music, games, activities, food, prizes and more! Each year this party is a highlight for graduating seniors with at least 80% of the class attending. All April ticket registrations will be entered into a drawing to win a Card My Yard!!

National Confirmation Deadline- May 1st, 2022

Historically, May 1st has been the National College Confirmation Deadline, the day most colleges and universities expect students to accept an offer of admission and hold their spot in the freshman class.

Required Future Plans Survey in NAVIANCE

Complete the ‘EVHS Class of 2022 Future Plans Survey’ by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 4th in your NAVIANCE account. The survey is important as it will be used for awards/graduation recognition and reporting your plans for next year. Your completed survey is part of earning your senior opportunities.

Final High School Transcript

All colleges require that you send a final transcript with your graduation date before enrolling. You must request to send your final transcript by noon on June 7th to the college, university, or program you will attend in the fall.

Learning Commons

All students/math levels welcome!

Students should stop by the Counseling Office and get a pass to attend the college/university/military Rep Visit prior to the right visit. These university/college or military visits are small group meetings typically lasting 20-30 minutes. These admission reps are often times the same people that review college applications, so it's a great connection for students.

All boys interested in playing soccer for Eastview during the fall 2022 high school season; there will be a short meeting after school on Tuesday, May 3 at 2:35 in the East Commons. We will go over the following items: After School Spring Training, Summer Super Group, Summer GK training, Summer Shooting Lab, Summer Camp Dates, Captains Practices, Tryouts and Training Camp. Please make it a priority to attend. See Coach G in B1 cluster or Schoology message with questions.

We are collecting information for our Senior Athlete Recognition Program (Scheduled to be held Sunday, May 22nd at 6:30 p.m.) and want to be sure we collect information from ALL Seniors who will be competing in Athletics next year in college (Scholarship or not). VARSITY SPORTS

Eastview High School Varsity Baseball beat Rosemount High School 3-0 (April 27)

The Lightning Varsity Baseball team defeated Rosemount 3-0. The Lightning were led on the mound by starting pitcher TJ Egan. Egan earned the victory by going six shutout innings striking out 13 Irish hitters. Ezra Formaneck earned the save by striking out the side in the 7th.

The Lightning broke through offensively in the 6th inning scoring two runs. Cooper DeSutter drove in one of the runs with a bases loaded hit by pitch. The Lightning scored another insurance run in the 7th inning with an RBI single by Benjy Vandeberg.

Lightning Varsity Girls Golfers Get Two Wins This Week

This spring weather continues to be a struggle, but it doesn’t stop the Lightning girls golfers, as they took home two first place finishes this week. They took on LVS at a dual at Heritage Links Golf Course, and came away with a domination win: 331-423. Lauryn Finley shot 76, Emma Lai-78, Kennedy Brom-80, Addison Schafer-97, Megan Young-104, Serafina Swanson- 108. On Wednesday, the girls competed in their second conference tournament of the year at Stonebrook Golf Course, and came away with a 29 stroke win. Lauryn Finley led the Lightning shooting a 78, Emma Lai shot 79, Kennedy Brom-81, Megan Young- 93, Serafina Swanson- 94, and Addison Schafer-96. Despite the many hazards, the girls stayed strong and played it one hole and one shot at a time.

CLUB SPORTS

Monday night, the Lightning Boys Volleyball team opened the season with two dominant wins over Minneapolis Southwest in non-conference action. The JV team dominated the first set, cruising to a 25-15 win, and then held on in a closer second set winning 25-22. The varsity team won in straight sets, 25-18, 25-19, 25-19. The team heads to Austin for a non-conference match on Wednesday before Hosting the Big Bolt Classic tournament on Sunday, May 1.

Plan to celebrate “5 de mayo” early!!! Meet at Las Enchiladas restaurant on Wednesday, May 4th. The restaurant is owned by an Eastview family and is located at 18500 Pilot Knob Road in Farmington. Pick up a permission slip from any Spanish teacher and turn it in by Tuesday, May 3rd. Let’s meet at the restaurant at ­­­about 3:00pm. Hope you can come!

In March, 12 Eastview speakers representing 11 different entries qualified to the Minnesota State High School League Class AA State Speech Tournament. On Friday, every single one of those students advanced to the final round of competition, and three of them were crowned STATE CHAMPIONS in their event!

Every single entry helped Eastview earn the Third Place Team Sweepstakes Plaque. From 1969-2022, Eastview places sixth in all-time gold medalists (30), and fifth in Class AA medalists (168).
