CELL PHONE POLICY
Students do have options when it comes to where they can place their cell phones during the school day.
- Students may always leave their phones at home. If the risk of getting in trouble with the phone is too great, just leave it at home.
- Students may use their lockers to store their phone during the school day. This keeps the phone out of reach during class and available after school for pick up arrangements.
- Students may use the wall phone pocket in the classroom.
PERSONAL DIGITAL DEVICES
We have noticed that some students are bringing their personal devices to school in an attempt to work around the cell phone policy. Personal devices allow the student to still have access to social media and texting.
Our goal with the personal device policy is to help students remain focused on schoolwork so that they may reach their greatest potential.
STUDENTS IN BUILDING AFTER SCHOOL
Please be sure arrangements are made to have your child picked up promptly when school is dismissed. Students are expected to leave the building immediately unless they are participating in C2, after school tutoring, have detention, or other authorized assignments which are supervised by South Lake staff members or coaches.
Hanging out, waiting for sporting events, or waiting on a ride in excess following dismissal from school will be considered loitering.
Habitual loitering may result in suspension from school.
EARLY RELEASE
We will have an early release on Thursday, February 15. High School students will be released at 1:15 pm. This will lead into our Mid-Winter Break beginning on Friday, February 16.

Please remind your student that they will not receive food deliveries via Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc. Continued violations may result in disciplinary action.
AFTER SCHOOL PICKUP
The safety of you and your children is of the utmost importance to South Lake High School. Before and after school can be very dangerous with the amount of traffic coming and going. In our efforts to keep your children safe, we will be strictly enforcing Michigan Law and the City of St. Clair Shores ordinances. The following items are such laws and ordinances that must be followed. Violations of these laws or ordinances may result in a civil infraction citation from the St. Clair Shores Police Department.
