City of Willow Park

The City of Willow Park is expecting to begin a major road improvement project in early 2023. The first roads included in the project will be reconstructed with concrete and include the following areas:

• Crown Road (from Ranch House Road south to the city limits)
• Sam Bass Road
• Ranch House Road (from Crown Road to Vista)
• Kingsgate Road (from north of the bridge to the top of the hill)

After the concrete projects are completed, the following roads will be reconstructed in asphalt:

• Old Ford Road and adjoining cul de sacs
• Sam Bass Ct
• Trinity
• Trinity Ct

Today our country feels as divided as I have ever seen it in my lifetime. This season of political ads, which each side attacking the other as “the enemy,” just magnify the hatred and vitriol that I see.

I’ve always said it is better to be kind than to be right. Rather than focus on our differences, I’d like to see us focus on what makes us similar, the things that unite us. We all want safe neighborhoods, good lives for our families, and the stability to work towards our goals. The only “enemies” out there are the ones who would seek to divide us against each other.

Now that the election is almost over, I would hope that we can set aside our differences and remember that we are in this together. Coming together at the table is more important now than ever, and in this upcoming season of thanks, I wish peace and happiness for our community and the country as a whole.

Please help the City congratulate Crystal Frazier the Deputy Court Clerk in the Municipal Court. Crystal has been with the City since April and recently passed her Level I Certification Test to obtain her Level I Certification. This is an outstanding accomplishment. Crystal is already studying for her Level II.

The Municipal Court Clerk Certification Program was established to encourage professional development and educational growth within the court clerk profession. It is sponsored by the Texas Court Clerks Association (TCCA) in cooperation with the Texas Municipal Courts Association (TMCA), the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center (TMCEC), and Texas State University in San Marcos. Program participants achieve certification upon successful completion of each of the three levels: Level I (CCCI), Level II (CCCII), and Certified Municipal Court Clerk (CMCC).

At each level, a test is administered to gauge the skill-level and aptitude of the professional seeking certification. TMCEC has developed study materials to prepare participants and other court support personnel to better understand the law, procedure, and responsibilities of the municipal court clerk.

Mayor Doyle Moss honored Freedom House of Parker County with a proclamation at the October 11 City Council meeting proclaiming October 2022 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
