Reminders and Updates from Dr. Bonneau
Reminders for Students:
- Students must wear their Legacy ID cards at all times while in the building.
- Cell phones cannot be out in instructional areas (classrooms).
- Students need to be in dress code when they arrive on campus. (MISD Dress Code Link)
- The tardy bell rings at 7:25 each morning, please allow time to get through Evolv and be on time to class. (Open door times listed below)
Parent Drop-off and Pick-up: All parent drop and pick up is done in front of the building. Please do not use the back parking lot to drop off or pick up your student. There is a lot of traffic in the back in the mornings and afternoons between the students that drive and our faculty and staff arriving for work.
Fines and Fees: We have many students that have outstanding fines and fees. These can be paid through Skyward or through the Bookkeeper on campus. If you are a senior, you will not be able to purchase prom tickets or pick up you graduation tickets until all of your fines and fees have been cleared. If you need to work out a payment plan, please see the bookkeeper.
New Associate Principal of Facilities: Please welcome Mr. Pete Cavazos to Legacy! He is coming to us from Mansfield High School. Mr. Cavazos will serve students with last names Li-O. His office is located in the front foyer of the cafeteria.
As a reminder, here are the entry door times:
Morning entry: 6:45-7:25 AM - Main front entrance or back of cafeteria (bus loop) entrance
Senior Late Arrival/Morning Athletes: 8:35-9:00 - Back of cafeteria (bus loop) entrance
Ben Barber AM: 10:15-10:35 - Back of cafeteria (bus loop) entrance
Ben Barber PM: 2:45-2:55 - Back of cafeteria (bus loop) entrance
The front entrance (main entrance) will be open with the machine staffed all day for visitors and students who park in the front or do not arrive at a time that the back entrance is open.
Let's CELEBRATE! If you have had an experience with someone at Legacy and want to give them a "shout out", please send me their name and a brief explanation. We would love to make someone's day! My email address is stephaniebonneau@misdmail.org.

FAFSA application now open!
The FAFSA application is now open! The state of Texas now requires seniors to complete the FAFSA or formally opt out. This is a graduation requirement. If you are planning to attend college, you should complete the FAFSA. Even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for “free” money, many colleges require the FAFSA to be completed and use it when considering students for scholarships.
We have scheduled some evening hands-on help events at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts for you to get the help you need! See the flyer below for dates and information. You may also get help at your campus Go Center. If you elect to formally opt-out, please complete the opt-out form and submit to your counselor.
