Green Tickets Galore
BES kicked off a positive behavior incentive program last semester to recognize students for making good choices. Sometimes, the school awards students green tickets for following basic procedures like walking down the hall quietly, and other times, they receive them for going above and beyond to help a friend. BES wants to thank community partners like the Midway Theatre, the bowling alley, and McDonald's for supporting our quarterly drawing winners. We also thank PTO for sponsoring the weekly "Treasure Box" drawings that kids look forward to in elementary school.
BES also implemented a new behavior matrix this past semester, which includes yellow tickets. Students may receive yellow tickets for minor behaviors if they have been warned to stop or if they are more severe infractions. We're excited to announce that in the first semester, there were over 2,000 green tickets given out by staff, while students received just over 200 yellow tickets! We're proud to recognize the students making great choices and encourage them to keep making them! We also saw a drop in yellow tickets from 125 in the first quarter to 85 in the second quarter!

Hey Did you Know...
It's Winter!
Please be sure you send your kids bundled up for the cold with hats, gloves, scarves, etc! We do go outside if the temperature and playground conditions allow for it. Luckily, we get a lot of sunny days even when it is cold.
Adult Lunch Price Changes from $3 to $5
The school board voted to raise adult lunch prices from three dollars to five dollars a meal in order to meet federal requirements. Kids love having family visit for lunch so don't let the price hike keep you away. It's still cheaper than a fast food value meal, and healthier too!
PTO Meeting Monday
Monday at 8:00 AM PTO will be meeting at BES. Drop-in if you are interested in participating. They love to have parent input!
