Falcon Flyer
Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families- When I preview the newsletter each week I still get surprised by how many opportunities for learning and fun are available to our students inside and outside of the school day.
This wouldn’t happen if our teachers, advisors, coaches, etc… weren’t so passionate about creating a thriving academic environment as well as an amazing extracurricular program. Did you know over 75% of our coaches and advisors are Ridgeline teachers? Then consider all our staff who support as clock operators, ticket takers, supervision, and more! That is a very important statistic that underscores the buy-in and commitment our staff have to our kids. Even after a full day of teaching, which is very demanding, they are excited to give extra time to make things happen. I’m thankful for them.
When I mention the demands of working in a very people-centered field, like education, you don’t realize how much extra energy it takes to be around people constantly for 7-8 hours/day. Those of you in similar career fields where you interact with people all day know what I’m talking about. It’s why I struggle with personality surveys to gauge whether I’m an extrovert or an introvert. Of course I come out as an extrovert—which I am sometimes the “life of the party” and I definitely enjoy being around our students and my staff. At the same time my favorite places to be are quiet…. Like deep in the woods, anchored in an isolated cove, or an evening on my back patio around the fire pit. I think the reason this was even on my mind is understanding balance in my life, and how that applies to all of us. Not finding that balance can lead to us not being at our best.
Halloween is on Monday and students ARE allowed to dress up. Be mindful of excessive gore, excessive skin, weapons, and full face coverings.
If you don’t skim through the flyer this week you’ll miss out on senior celebrations, individual and team successes, and important coming events!
I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of your student’s lives and their success. Thank you. Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

2022 Ridgeline HS Veterans Honor Wall
We would like to honor the veterans in your family during Veterans Day next month. We have a few questions and you can upload a photograph of your family members and closest friends who have served. These vets will be honored during the assembly and throughout the week on our video screens in the Commons.
You can only fill out one form, but each form can accept up to 5 veterans. We are requesting students and staff to fill out information for one veteran, but you can add up to four more if you have a lot of service history in your immediate family.
Photographs in uniform are wonderful, but it is not required that uploaded photos are of someone in their uniform. Please complete submissions by Thursday, November 4th so we can include your honorees in the assembly the following week. Thank you for helping us honor those who you are close to. Veterans Day is an important day to celebrate our service men and women.
