The Connection Week 4 Term 4
Huapai District School 10th November 2022
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
One of the impactful experiences I have had was doing Outward Bound in my early 30’s. This proved pivotal in my commitment to seeing children experience the outdoors. But more so, how a moment, an experience or even a word can be so significant. My mind jumps to the experiences we try to present to children both in and outside of the classroom.
I was incredibly proud and grateful to the staff, students and parents who got involved in our musical last week - the celebration is not only the event but the growth we see in children through the experience. This week and next we roll into more camps - again such an experience and opportunity for growth.
Here’s the thought - “When eating fruit, remember the one who planted the tree.” (Vietnamese proverb).
I think in our consumerism and busy lives, we need to teach our children (and ourselves) to alway take time to be grateful. To thank and to acknowledge others. Too often, I see children rushing through an experience or an event and miss the opportunity to stop, reflect and be grateful.
I’m incredibly grateful for what we have in our school, in our staff and in the character of your children.
Have a great week.
John Petrie
Principal

Additional to this, there are various staff involved in support, release and leadership roles.
Our next step is to begin the process of class construction. This is based on the input received from parents, staff recommendations and the reality of numbers and options available. Please be assured a lot of effort goes into this.
