Falcon Flyer
Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families- Next week we’re in the month of May…what a bittersweet feeling that this incredible year is quickly coming to an end. Which makes every moment going forward that much more special. You’ll see today that our students will get to have a special night with our first ever Spring Formal Dance. We’re saving the PROM for our Seniors next year, but the Spring Formal will be an epic warm-up event! More details about the dance are below.
Thank you to the Ridgeline Boosters for sponsoring and hosting the Spring Formal! By the way, if you want to join the Boosters, you can do that right now through the link in today’s Flyer.
I’m impressed by how many of our students work part-time jobs while doing school full-time. If your son or daughter is looking for a job (or you’d like them to get a job), we have an unprecedented opportunity to make employment easier than ever. Our worksite learning coordinator, Mrs. Demarest, has pulled together dozens of employers to come to our school May 12 to recruit or hire teen workers right now or into summer. This is open to all CVSD students, but since it’s on our site we’re going to encourage all Ridgeline students to attend, at least for the experience.
I smile every time we get to celebrate our students accomplishments in the newsletter each week. There have been so many moments for students to be proud of their effort and the work they’ve put in. I see this as an important building block as we head into next year. How cool is it we get all the same kids back for another year!
As I’ve mentioned before, we’re going to be growing by nearly 400 students next year. Our enrollment will be around 1350—CVHS will be about the same… Wild, huh!?
So we’re hiring teachers again and during our conversations we always spend time talking about our Mission… Belong. Inspire. Grow. It’s important to know how our new staff will connect these values to their work with students and staff. It’s great to hear their excitement in how the mission resonates with them and also describe the great things they’ve heard about Ridgeline this past year.
It’s a fact that when we prioritize relationships, the culture thrives and that opens the door for learning.
Make it a great weekend! –Mr. Hardt
Ridgeline PACE award recipient, Callen Johnson
PACE: Partners Advancing Character Education
Celebrating and encouraging good character in our schools & community, bringing good character to light.
Congratulations to Callen Johnson! He is our Ridgeline PACE award recipient!
Callen has lived in the Central Valley School District his entire life, and attended Liberty Lake Elementary and Greenacres Middle School. He then spent his first two high school years at Central Valley, and now at Ridgeline. While in middle school, Callen was a very involved student, participating in multiple sports and activities. He carried that willingness to participate with him to high school, where he participated in multiple clubs, like Key Club, Knowledge Bowl, Spanish Club, and Link Crew. While balancing school and extracurriculars, he also worked a part time job throughout the school year. Callen is also an accomplished athlete, with 2 varsity letters playing tennis, as well as being captain of the team, and now is a captain for Ridgeline JV Soccer. After high school, he plans on attending a 4 year university to pursue a degree in engineering.
Way to go Callen!!

Youth Leadership Spokane is now accepting applications!
Youth Leadership Spokane is now accepting applications for high school students grades 10 – 12 for the 2023 class. This is a great opportunity for students to learn about their community, network with industries and organizations, have some great volunteer opportunities, and meet students from all over the Spokane region. The commitment is only one evening a month, and it is a great resume-builder. We want some Ridgeline students representing!

From the Attendance Desk
Reminder- School starts at 7:45am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. School starts at 8:15am on Thursday. We are starting to see more and more students arriving to school at or after the posted start time. This is causing students to be late to 1st period. It's really important that whether a student drives to school or is dropped off, they arrive with enough time to be in class and ready to go at 7:45 (M,T,W,F) or 8:15 (Th) depending on the day. Please talk with your students about the importance of being to school and classes on time.
If your student is absent from school please call our attendance line at 509-558-3801 to excuse their absence.
Go Falcons!
