Super Chats are geared toward Anna ISD students. This year Mr. Comeaux is being interviewed by AHS Sophomore student Samantha Daley. Samantha talked with friends to come up with the questions. We hope you enjoy the segment.
Anna ISD names middle school principals
Matt Blanscet- Slayter Creek Middle School
Matthew Blanscet was announced as the new principal of Anna Middle School; soon to be Slayter Creek Middle School. Blanscet served as Assistant Principal at Anna Middle School since 2016 and the Interim Principal since school started this year. Blanscet began his teaching career in 2005 working in Amarillo ISD. In 2008 he moved back closer to home where he was a science teacher in Frisco ISD before being promoted to 504/Testing Coordinator where he remained until coming to Anna ISD in 2016. His goals include retaining and hiring highly effective teachers that want to stay in and invest in the Anna Community, raising student achievement, and continuing to build the morale and engagement of students in this post-pandemic world.
Amanda Tanguma Smith- Clemons Creek Middle School
Amanda Tanguma Smith was announced as the new principal of Clemons Creek Middle School opening in August of 2023. Smith is a 2009 graduate of Anna High School. It has been her heart's desire to get back to the community in which she started. She began her educational career as a 6th-grade math teacher at Dallas ISD. She was promoted to Assistant Principal at the Young Women's STEAM Academy in DISD where she was selected as a 2020 Distinguished Assistant Principal. In 2021, Smith was promoted to Principal at Seagoville Middle School again in Dallas ISD where she leads a staff of 160 employees and serves 1,470 students. She will begin working in AISD in February 2023 to begin hiring staff, working with facilities personnel, ordering furniture and equipment, and getting to know students and staff.
Board Recognitions
Nadia Newell
Nadia Newell, AHS Junior, was our holiday card winner for 2022. Mr. Comeaux asked AHS AP Art students to design a holiday card to be the official card for Anna ISD. Administrators voted and selected Nadia's design featuring two coyotes in sweaters howling on the front. The card was delivered to all AISD staff and sent to all Region 10 school districts.

The Anna ISD police department has a new TIP email address. If you hear or see something suspicious, please email the Anna ISD PD at safetyandsecurity@annaisd.org. This email is a one-way communication tool; you will not receive a response.
Additionally, you can download the iWatch Texas app. The tips on the app are anonymous and will help keep schools safe and secure by alerting the appropriate personnel of any potential threats.
