SVDP Newsletter

Dear SVDP Community,

We look forward to seeing your children on Tuesday, August 17. This newsletter includes staff bios and reminders to be ready for a successful school year!

This past year your Annual Giving and Blazers & Baubles contributions were used towards health and safety improvements as well as some furniture upgrades throughout the school.

As reported in our last newsletter, the seismic retrofit to the middle school building on almost complete. We also installed a new fob / key card system throughout the school. This system improves the security and accessibility of the school buildings.

Our Innovation Center (middle school lower level) is pending the arrival of new furniture which is expected in October. We also have added more flexible furniture in some classrooms and the Learning Hub (?).

On designated days, students will be permitted to come to school in jeans or khaki pants and the SVDP Spirit shirt. When participating in Spirit Dress Days, students will be expected to adhere to the following:

• Students are permitted to wear full-length denim blue jeans or khaki pants, as long as they are neat in appearance, are not ripped or frayed, and do not have holes worn through them.

• Students are permitted to wear only approved SVDP Spirit shirts, white uniform tops, or gray/navy short sleeve logo polo.

• Instead of jeans or khakis, students may wear uniform shorts or skorts.

• Skin-tight clothing is not to be worn. Students may not wear any clothing that exposes the midriff or any other significant part of the body.

• White school shoes with socks (as indicated above) must be worn. Slipper, flip-flops, sandals, and boots are not permitted.

Spirit shirts will also be permitted to be worn on designated P.E. days with uniform bottoms and on class field trips.

ORDERS must be completed by Wednesday, August 18th.

Uniforms

All uniforms are purchased through our uniform provider, Classic Designs School Uniforms and Athletic Wear. Order online or visit their storefront at 1551 Taraval St.

Interested in used uniforms? Our Parent Guild will host a gently used uniform giveaway on Monday, August 16 in the staff parking lot at the corner of Green and Pierce.

• 9:00 - 10:00 is reserved for new school families.
• 10:00 - 11:00 is open to new and existing school families.

Please note: Parent Guild is not accepting used uniforms at this event. A collection day will be announced later in the school year.
