An Extraordinary Place to Learn
A Message from Principal Wilson
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the volunteers, parents, and families that came out to make our annual Fall-o-Ween Trunk-or-Treat a success. Our scholars enjoyed games, fun, music, book characters, and of course the candy filled hallways. Your support means the world to us and we are looking forward to it being even bigger and better next year.
Congratulations to the staff, students, and families from the 2018-2019 school year. A. Philip Randolph is now a 4-STAR climate school with a score of 94.4. Way to go Dolphins!
Last week the State Department of Education (GADOE) released the College and Career Readiness Performance Index scores. Randolph's score for the 2019 school year is a 66. While we fell short of where we would have liked to be, we have already started making the necessary adjustments for growth this school year. I will be hosting a principal's chat on Monday, November 11, at 8:00 a.m. to share CCRPI details and takeaways for improvement.
Election day is Tuesday, November 5, and there is no school for scholars. If you have scheduled a parent/teacher conference with your scholar's teacher, please be sure to arrive on time as there is a rolling schedule and our goal is to honor everyone's time. If you have not scheduled a conference yet, please contact your scholar's teacher directly to do so. Tuesday is NOT the only day for parent conferences, so please coordinate a date and time that works for you and the teacher.
Friday, November 8, is Falcons Friday at Randolph. We are asking our staff and scholars to wear Falcons gear to help support our home team for their next home game. We hope our show of support brings the team the WIN!
If you have received a notice from the cafeteria about your scholar's lunch balance, please see our cafeteria manager Ms. Hayes to make payments on the lunch account, or visit the FCS nutrition site to pay all outstanding lunch balances.
It is both an honor and privilege to serve the scholars, staff, and families of Randolph Elementary. I appreciate each of you who have offered your support, expressed concerns, and worked alongside me to ensure we create a culture of collaboration and support between the school, parents, and community. Please continue to keep me informed as to how I can ensure your experiences here are EXTRAordinary!
In Partnership,
Principal Wilson, Proud Dolphin

A Message from our PTA President
Dear Parents:
Every year, our PTA helps to oversee the needs and development of the school. We help by raising funds to provide a wide range of educational enrichment programs to our students. The money we raise helps to fund class trips to all grades, books, classroom supplies, and a lot more. During the past years, the PTA has provided learning opportunities that would have otherwise been unavailable to our children. As the new school year begins, we would once again ask for your support so that we can continue making resource and learning opportunities available to our children.
While dues are not required for membership, the PTA depends on your annual voluntary donations to keep all sorts of wonderful things happening for the children of A. Philip Randolph. If you choose not to make any voluntary donations, we still appreciate your involvement and your time contributed to support our school. Please fill out the form by clicking the link here --> https://randolphpta.memberhub.store for instant membership.
If you have more than one child at this school, please list all your children’s names and classes on one form.
Sincerely,
Renee Young, PTA President
Randolph is a Title I School
What is Title I?
Title I is a federally funded program designed to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic standards and state academic assessments.
The Title I program focuses on the academic needs of the most disadvantaged students.
There are 60 schools operating Title I programs in the Fulton County School System for the 2018-2019 school year.
Be on the lookout for parent engagement activities through our Title I parent liaisons office. We have several events scheduled for October.
