Principal's Note
Good evening parents and caregivers,
We are only nine days away from our Winter break, and here are a few things we're doing to ensure our students remain engaged during their time at school:
Follow the Otter Way - Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Kind: We're emphasizing kindness, especially as the weather gets colder, extended families visit, and holiday celebrations start. With children potentially feeling sleep-deprived and tired, we're focusing on practicing kindness, and encouraging them to express their emotions with respectful words and actions.
Maintain a Strong Routine in the Classroom: Children feel safe and secure when they know what to expect each day. I encourage you to maintain a consistent routine at home as well, to help students stay refreshed and ready to learn over the next two weeks.
Celebrate All Our Students: As previously mentioned, on December 21st, all students will participate in a lesson titled "Holidays Around the World". We will explore various winter holidays, including Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Lunar New Year, Eid Al-Fitr, Las Posadas, and Dia de Reyes. If your child would like to collaborate with our Multilingual team to share their own holiday traditions, please let their teacher or me know.
Thank you so much for your dedication and trust every day.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Un abrazo,
Mrs. Bell
Nybo Zoo Xyoo Tshiab!
Thank you to our Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Lee, and 5th grader Ella, for teaching us about the Hmong New Year! We love learning about different celebrations from around the world.
Sunday, December 17
Brookens is having their annual Santa Breakfast again this year! They will have a free, warm breakfast and pictures with Santa [9 - 11am].
They also will have some coats, hats, and mittens available to those who may need some.

Lil Shopper's Shopping Event
December 21st & 22nd
The Meadow View SCO is bringing a miniature shopping event to our Meadow View students. December 21st and December 22nd Meadow View students will have a chance to purchase holiday items for their loved one's through the Lil Shopper's program.
Yes, this is an opportunity for student's to shop without a loved one having to drive them to a store and pretend to not see what the student wants to purchase. If you want your student to be able to shop it is the caregivers responsibility to send the student to school with money in an envelope marked Lil Shopper's event. Everything at this shopping event will be under $5 and it is NOT required to send money for this event if you don't want to have your student participate.
If you would like your student to participate, but need assistance please contact your student's teacher. If you are interested in volunteering to work at the shopping event a sign-up genius will be coming next week.
SCO Holiday Magic
Are you a crafty caregiver or like to assemble gift bags? The Meadow View SCO is looking for caregivers who would like to assist with staff member holiday gifts and creating some holiday magic. This is a great opportunity for working caregivers that can't volunteer during the day. You can volunteer from the comfort of your own home. If you are interested please reach out to the Meadow View SCO at meadowviewsco@gmail.com
