Fox Ridge Early Childhood Center would like to acknowledge Week of the Young Child April 1-7 2023.
“The Week of the Young Child”® is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services which meet those needs."
In an effort to bring attention and awareness to Fox Ridge Early Childhood Center, I invite you to "share your story" and give a shout out to acknowledge Early Childhood programming, services, staff, experiences, and parent support that have been meaningful to you and your preschooler's early years and development.
Please take a moment to fill out this form with your story. These will be shared with Fox Ridge Staff and we will also share with our D303 Social Media outlets as possible. Thanks in advance for sharing in this opportunity to focus attention on Early Childhood Programming!
Tammy Town: Fox Ridge Family Event
Tammy Town: Stranger Danger Safety and Emergency Preparedness Training
Tammy Town - A traveling training town proudly presents, “Stranger Danger Safety and Medical Emergency Preparedness Training”.
Officer Tammy Schulz, with 30 years of law enforcement experience, take children on a trip through Tammy Town, a scenario based training town geared to prepare children for encounters with strangers, getting lost, and medical emergencies should they or someone they know require emergency assistance.
Participants learn about community helpers, people working in the community, who they can go to for help during an actual emergency. During scenario based exercises children will learn what to do if a stranger, or someone they don’t know very well offers them a ride, candy, gifts or for their help finding their dog, and other related incidents.
Students will learn what to do if a parent, or someone they know, has a medical emergency.
This interactive training offers children an opportunity to play the role of the community helper and student so they know what each person should do during an actual emergency.
Students learn about 911, when it should be utilized, who they can go to for help and what they should say to the emergency 911 dispatcher during an actual emergency.

Student Absences
If you know ahead of time your child will be missing there is also a pre-arranged absence form to complete (request from the front office). It is required to be turned in at least 2 days before the requested absence and applies for certain types of absences (family vacation, special religious events, etc.)
Bus Riders: There is NO NEED to call the transportation department to notify them of the absence. The bus driver will stop for 2 minutes at your child's stop and then continue on the route if you are not outside when they arrive. The department doesn't have staffing to field phone calls regarding absences or notify the drivers of the messages. Additionally, they need the phone line open for other purposes.
