A message from Miss Remillard
This month, George Washington School is finishing up NYS exams and getting excited for our end of the year activities! Amongst field trips, assemblies and therapy dog visits, we are very excited to hold our famous GW Talent Show IN PERSON! We hope to see you all there to cheer on our students! We will also be visiting June Farms, so please sign and return your child's permission slip!
Last month out helpers in room 5 and room 1 demonstrated how to form "Positive Relationships" with a very special video (please see link below)! Our Skill of the Month for May is "Conflict Resolution" Please see a link for a parent resource below.
GW Literacy Corner
Get them to read another one. Find ways to encourage your child to pick up another book. Introduce him or her to a series like The Boxcar Children or Harry Potter or to a second book by a favorite author, or ask the librarian or your child’s teacher for additional suggestions.
Students of the Month
Congratulations to our April students of the Month (from left): Alygiah, Ahmeer (PE), Joseph, and Alex!
GW Classroom Highlight!
Room 6, Miss Russ' room
Room 6 is ready for Spring! Ms. Russ' room is finishing up their science unit on Weather and Climate, and we will be moving onto Investigating Life Cycles. Each student was given a set of caterpillars that they will observe and journal their changes while learning about the Metamorphosis Process. Once the butterflies have finished their transformation, students will be responsible for keeping the cage clean and the butterflies fed until they are released.
Spring has Sprung in Room 5!
Egg Hunt
Students loved our 2nd Annual GW Egg Hunt!
Courtyard Cleanup
For Earth Day, GW students help our custodian, Mr. Mike, with cleaning up our beautiful courtyard!
