Wildcats and Families,
Congratulations to the following students for being recognized as the Wildcats of the Month for August. Each department is recognizing the following students: English – Ethan Rocha Luna, Science – Luke Swarts, Math – Ava O’Brien, Fine Arts – Lucinda Mater, Social Studies – Lauralyn DeLeon, World Language – Ava Dougherty, PE – Carson Miller, Family and Consumer Science – Addison Mages, and Industrial Tech – Dawson Roth. Great job!
During halftime of the football game Friday night, De Soto High School was formally recognized as the KSHSAA Performing Arts School of Excellence award winner. Congratulations to our entire community for earning this achievement, a recognition of continued excellence as the result of the efforts of our students and staff.
The Breakfast Club is back! DHS will once again offer morning homework assistance in the areas of math and English beginning Tuesday, September 5th. Math and English teachers will run the sessions from 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a light breakfast provided to students in attendance. Check out the flyer below for more information.
Homecoming week begins Monday, September 18th. Fun activities are planned to take place all week long, ending with the dance on Saturday, September 23rd. More information is included in this newsletter or can be found on our website, here.
Parent-teacher conferences are a great opportunity for parents to get early feedback and collaborate on the success of their students. Conferences will be held Wednesday, September 27th from 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm, and Thursday, September 28th from 9:30 am – 8:00 pm. On Thursday, September 28th, we will take a break from conferences for dinner from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Wednesday and Thursday conferences will take place at DHS in person in the commons and the aux. gym. This open format allows parents to stop by tables as teachers become available throughout the time. Please contact your student’s teachers if a virtual conference is requested.

Homecoming Week - Monday 9/18 to 9/22
A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT STUDENTS WHILE EARNING A LITTLE EXTRA INCOME
USD 232 is looking for one or more individuals to split a bus route that have either their LPN or RN licensure. We have some wonderful students with medical needs who are in need of either an LPN or RN to assist them while riding the bus to and from school. The hours are listed below and days to work flexible.
