Stanwood-Camano District Promise
Every student in the Stanwood-Camano School District is empowered to learn in an inclusive setting and is prepared for the future of their choice.
Welcome Back!
I hope everyone had a joyful Thanksgiving. With only 3 1/2 weeks until Winter Vacation, I just wanted to pass along another reminder about the impact of strong attendance for your student's success and effective progress; you'll see below a district wide message about staying healthy. I can well understand how there might be a perception that attendance each day may not be terribly important in elementary school, but IT IS! We have very few days to do so much, and the habit of regular attendance is equally important to foster with each student. As the father of two now adult children, I can also understand the need to travel during less expensive dates, but please remember that attendance to the last day before vacation time really does have an impact! Thanks very much for your partnership and collaboration!

District Resources regarding attendance
We pride ourselves on being a welcoming place for our students each day — and we're excited to see everyone back in the classroom on Monday!
However, we are still seeing higher-than-normal absenteeism among our students as we continue to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please take steps to keep your child healthy and send them to school unless they are truly sick.
Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect to peers and their teachers. It is essential to encourage the best possible attendance. Good attendance, of course, leads to strong academic growth.
If your family or your child needs support, please reach out us at school or visit our website for links to family resources, health supports, and more.
More ways to learn about our levy
Last week, the district launched a weekly informational newsletter that delves deeper into different aspects of our upcoming replacement levy. Read the first in the series of levy newsletters HERE.
The district's goal is to provide factual information for voters.
In addition, there are several in-person public levy information sessions remaining on the calendar between now and Election Day on Feb. 13. You can rewatch our event from this past Monday on our Facebook page.
