We have amazing teachers at Second Creek and I bet you can't wait to find out who your student's teacher will be. Teacher assignments will be available August 5th. Please use the Infinite Campus Portal in order to look up this information.

We can't wait to see you at our Back-to-School night event. Come meet your teacher and check out your new classroom environment. Bring your school supplies so your student is ready to go the next morning when school starts!

We will have informational tables throughout the building. Come meet our awesome PTO and maybe sign up to join!

Please make sure to stop by the gym for a formal welcome back from Ms. Marlatt and Ms. Sainz. We will also have a drawing for prizes! The times for this event are:

All sessions are the same, so you only need to come to one of them.

*** On the first couple of days of school only, teachers will meet their students in the back of the school (by the playground area) and walk them to their classes. The only exception will be Kindergarten. We will do a Red Carpet Welcome Back event for all kindergarteners on Thursday, August 11th, starting at 7:45am. (more information on this below)

7:30am - doors open for all breakfast eaters - please use the side cafeteria doors for this

7:35am - Doors open for all students

7:50am - Instruction in the classroom starts

We want to welcome all kindergarten students to Second Creek in style!

Please gather by the kindergarten doors, and be ready to cheer your student on as he/she walks the red carpet and on to an awesome day of learning.

Soft start is a simple way for students to ease into their school day. It is the period of time in the morning (7:35am to 7:50am) that doors are open for students to start arriving. These 15 minutes also help alleviate crowding in our parking lot.

We urge you to take advantage of this time. Bring your student to Second Creek on time in the morning and help students start the day successfully!

Soft Start for all students starts Tuesday, August 16th.

We will not have our usual soft start on August 11th and August 12th. We want your child to be able to make a connection with his/her new teacher and learn the way to his/her new classroom.

For 8/11 and 8/12 only, please meet your teacher in their designated places - look for your teacher's name! If you are new to our school and are not sure where to go, please ask anyone with a blue safety vest for help.

Soft Start schedule starts on August 16th, 2022 at 7:35 am.

If you are a returning family to Second Creek, you know our parking lot is small and needs special care during morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Thank you for contributing to the overall safety of our staff and students!

If you are a new family to Second Creek, please read the information below carefully. Staff and sometimes Commerce City police are out during morning drop off and afternoon dismissal to make sure everyone is safe.

Parents, it is very important that we do not park on the bus lane before or after school. Blocking the bus causes delays that go beyond our school.

Here are a few reminders about our drop off and pick up procedures. You know that Commerce City police pops in once in a while and issue tickets to vehicles that are not following our safety rules... so please make sure you are doing what you can do keep our students and staff safe!

• No parked cars in the "no parking zone" - which is by the sidewalk from the beginning of the parking lot all the way to the front doors. This is a fire lane and also a bus lane. There is NO PARKING anytime. Only drop off or pick up. We have noticed many cars parked waiting for the school to open in the morning, blocking the bus and causing lines of cars that go all the way outside the parking lot. Please drop off your student and go - no parking.
• Same rules apply for pick up after school.
• Students can be dropped off at 7:30am for breakfast eaters and 7:35am for non breakfast eaters. We do not have supervision for students who are dropped off before these times.
• Students must be picked up at 3:30pm every day. We do not have staff to supervise students after school.
• Let us know if you need information about our before and after-school program.
• Please only use the handicap parking if you have a handicap license.
• The Staff of the Month parking is for staff only at all times.
