Welcome to the new Wolves Newsletter!
As part of the Osseo Area Schools operational plan and strategic direction, the district's communication team is working together with schools to help create improved communications between the district and its families and community members. Our new e-newsletters are more accessible and translatable.
This newsletter will be published several times this year. We will continue to have information available on the school website (Osseo Area Schools - District 279: Park Brook Elementary) and we will continue to use Talking Points (Text Messages) to send information to families.
A note from the principal
Dear Park Brook Families,
We are one month into the school year and it is great to see students active and participating in the school community. I desire Park Brook Elementary to be a school where students thrive, and truly enjoy being involved.
All students have been assessed this year, and the intervention groups are up and running. When I walk the halls of Park Brook Elementary during the school day, I see students engaged in learning throughout the building.
Fall conferences are coming soon, and this is a time for you to visit with your children's teachers. Please feel welcome to reach out to me at conferences, and you are welcome to call, email, or stop in to see me at any time.
In future editions of this newsletter my plan is to have more pictures, but for now our goal was to get this first edition out. Staff are continually learning, just as students are learning.
Mr. Taylor
CONFERNECES
Conferences will be held on October 10, 12 and 16. Conferences are a time to have time to visit with your children's teachers, hear about progress your child is making, give insights regarding your children, and understand interventions that are in place.
Scheduling Conferences
- Conferences for families with a student receiving EL or Special Education Services have been scheduled IF you returned the form indicating dates that will work for you.
- Parents/guardians, please log into ParentVUE to schedule your children's conferences at times that work for you. Please log into ParentVUE this week to schedule your children's conferences.
- Directions for scheduling your children's conferences can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qgI2FAjHZA_hkdINE3XkNujUmMiw_BKc_NrSglb-c38/edit?usp=sharing .
- If you need assistance, please call the school office to schedule your conferences. The sooner you call the better so you can have as many options as possible.
PTO - Parent Teacher Organization
PTO meets once-a-month. The dates are on the calendar on the website. All parents/guardians are welcome to come! The next meeting is Tuesday, October 17 at 6:00 p.m.
Parents/guardians are welcome to bring their children. Children will have options for coloring, Legos, and other things that they can choose to do while parents/guardians are meeting.
Each month a different staff member will share a few items, to both inform and be a discussion starter. Mr. Taylor shares a few items regarding the school, as well.
PTO is a place for parents to connect, learn about the school, and provide input.
