Roswell Roots & Black History Month Work of Art
In celebration of Black History Month, our school has created a work of art for display at Roswell City Hall. Each school in the Roswell district was invited to participate. The art was displayed for viewing in the Rotunda at Roswell City Hall for a Student Reception and viewing of the works in early February.
The Elkins Pointe created an art piece called βHonoring Elizabeth Catlettβ for the Roswell Roots City Hall Showcase. Art Teacher Ms. Marni Roberts and the advanced class of 8th-graders, star students from 6th and 7th grade, worked together on the canvas. The art students created the design and painting over two weeks. Thank you to Ms. Roberts for instructing her students about Elizabeth Catlett and guiding the students to make a unique art piece that celebrates Black History Month and the Roswell Roots Festival.
Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America
Congratulations to the Elkins Pointe FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) members for a job well done at their region competition. They all worked hard on their projects and knocked it out of the park in their presentations to the judges. All three groups are advancing to the state competition next month!
- Noah Clark and Noah Jenkins scored Silver on their Food Innovations project- watch out, Noah Squared Bakery may be coming to a store near you soon!
- Lillian Byrne scored Gold on her Professional Presentation and action project to prevent Peer pressure at EPMS.
- Charlotte Flood and Elizabeth Papia scored Gold on their project planning an event to promote the Connections programs AND PBIS at EPMS.
