60 SECONDS WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT
Seniors at SHS had the opportunity to purchase special spots in the school parking lot. Money raised in the sale of these spots supports PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports) initiatives at SHS. In addition, students had the opportunity to paint and express their creativity by personalizing their parking spots. Click HERE for this week’s episode to see their unique designs and to see how these spots add a little bit of flair to the senior parking lot at SHS.

MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. KIM SEITZ, RECESS MONITOR AT SURRARRER ELEMENTARY
Mrs. Kim Seitz is beginning her second year at Surrarrer Elementary. Mrs. Seitz is one of the fantastic Recess Monitors in our District helping students enjoy creative activities on the playground. She has been a resident of Strongsville for eight years and has two kids currently attending Strongsville City Schools. Mrs. Seitz earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University.
“I love that I get to help and see the kids having fun at recess. I get to provide them with space to run, a playground to explore, equipment to play with, and time to just enjoy being a kid. They get to be themselves, to laugh and play with their friends that might be in other classrooms, to form new friendships, and relax and recharge for the remainder of their school day!”
“The best part of being at Surrarrer is getting to be a small part of an amazing team that truly cares so much for the students. The teachers and staff work together to create a positive environment for each student to grow and achieve their goals, to make learning interesting, and to allow each student to be creative while learning.”
Thank you Mrs. Seitz for being a part of the growth and development of Surrarrer Elementary students! #ModelMustang
PTA Reflections
Calling all Elementary Artists! PTA Council Reflections is starting a Reflections Club for all elementary students that will be meeting once a month.
What is Reflections? It is a program put on by the State and National PTA that provides students an opportunity for recognition and access to the arts which boosts student confidence and success in the arts and in life. Each year, students can create and submit original works of art in response to a student-created theme. The 2023-2024 Theme is "I am hopeful because . . ." Students can create in six categories. Those categories are Film Making, Choreography/Dance, Visual Arts, Music Composition, and Literature.
This Elementary Reflections Club will meet September 18th, October 16th, and November 13th and 27th at the Strongsville Public Library, with the goal of giving students a chance to explore the art categories they can compete in. To sign up please click HERE - please know that space is limited and there is a cost of $5.00 per family for art supplies. Learn more about PTA Reflections at PTA.org/Reflections.
