We are so happy to have lunch visitors!! Please note that New Hope does have a no outside food policy which is designed to support the Forsyth County School's Wellness Policy. Parents and guests are always welcomed as customers of the school’s nutrition program to eat with their student in the cafeteria. We hope to see you soon!

Please remember that no outside food or drink is allowed for birthday celebrations at New Hope. However, a great way to celebrate your child's birthday at school is to purchase an ice cream treat from our cafeteria for each student in the class!

The cost is $35 per class/$15 for SI and Pre-K classes. Birthday ice cream may not be purchased using money on your child's lunch account, but instead is purchased using your Mypaymentsplus.com account (under the Activities tab). Please purchase birthday ice cream at least 2 school days in advance of when you would like the class to have the ice cream.

Please use this form if your child will be going home a different way than usual. Changes must be made before 1pm each day. Please communicate permanent changes directly to your child's teacher. (You do not need to complete this form for early checkouts.)

School Attendance

If your student is absent from school please email nheattendance@forsyth.k12.ga.us or your child's teacher. A paper note when your child returns to school is also acceptable.

Notes must be received within five (5) school days. Notes should include the student’s first and last name, the date(s) of absence(s), and the reason for the absence.

Parents/guardians can monitor student attendance in the Parent Portal. If you are not able to log into your Parent Portal account, please come by the school during school hours with your photo ID and our office staff will assist you.

Pictured below is our current lost & found. As you can see, it is literally OVERFLOWING. The bags and totes ALSO CONTAIN items!! Please remind your child to check for any missing items or you may stop by the school to check yourself. We will be donating any remaining items over spring break.

Ducks can be adopted in My Payments Plus or through PayPal at https://www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/edfoundation and click DONATE NOW. They can also be purchased by filling out a flyer and sending in cash or check (made payable to Forsyth County Education Foundation) to your child's teacher. Last day to adopt a duck is March 24. The drawing for the winner will be on March 31 at 1PM at the Cumming Aquatic Center and will be broadcast virtually. Remember all funds raised will be used for grants in schools this fall. Georgia Milestones End of Grade (EOG) Assessments will take place for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at the end of April and beginning of May. Please make sure your children attend school on these days to avoid having to make-up the tests at another time.

During testing days, there will be no classroom or media center volunteers or lunch visitors. Thank you!

The administration team at New Hope Elementary will soon begin building class rosters for the 2023-24 school year. We take great care to provide the best possible environment for all children to learn and succeed. However, if you believe your student has specific learning needs or unique considerations that should be brought to our attention, please complete this OPTIONAL form by FRIDAY, March 17th. No late forms will be accepted.

Please note: This optional form should not be used to request a specific teacher, but rather describe the type of environment/teaching style you believe would best support your child. Examples of appropriate feedback include separating one or two friends, personal or family challenges, and student behaviors.

Save the date for the Denmark Spring Fling! Join us and our other cluster schools on April 14 from 5-7pm for an evening of fun including food trucks, games, entertainment and baseball! Use the QR code to RSVP to this event.

Your child’s health and safety, both physical and mental, are very important to us at New Hope Elementary School. The CDC and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta both encourage outside recess as a part of their health promotion and to help increase classroom concentration. Weather permitting, each class goes outside for 30 minutes of recess daily. If your child has a chronic condition (including seasonal allergies) that would prevent them from participating in their usual class routine, a physician’s note will be needed. When a physician’s note is received, stating a child may not participate in outdoor activities, please be mindful that would also include Field Day or any other outdoor class activities.

The form to be completed by your physician can be found on the New Hope Elementary web page. Click on School Nurse under the Student Services Tab, then on the left-hand side, click Health Forms. The needed form is titled, Individualized Health Care Plan. Once the form is completed by you and your child’s physician, please send it in with your student.

Please make sure your student, especially our older grades, has a change of clothes in their backpack. We often have students who have fallen in the mud, spilled a drink on themselves, had a nosebleed or have had an accident and are requesting a change of clothes. The clinic has a very small number of long sleeve shirts and pants, and are lacking the size 5-7 range. Please consider donating outgrown clothing to the New Hope Clinic.

Attention all parents! Do you have a daughter that enjoys playing softball? Denmark's softball feeder team is starting up in a few months and we would love to have you join us! Registration will open on April 1st! 😊 There will be Kona Ice on the last day of camp and all camp participants will be invited to cheer a quarter of a Varsity Football game with the FCHS Varsity Football Cheerleaders!

Movement Martial Arts is a wonderful member of our school's Partner in Education program. Please take a look at all the awesome camps they will offer this summer!

Whitlow is so excited to offer STEM Camp to Kindergarten-6th Grade students this summer! Students will get to participate in a variety of creative experiences in science, engineering, technology and math. Camp will take place June 5-8, 2023. Full day or half day sessions are available. Please visit Whitlow's website for more information! Registration will close on May 5th at the end of the business day. Don’t delay, register today!
