Reminders & Links for Seniors
- Create a professional email address (ex: JohnSmith2022@yahoo/gmail.com)
- Update or create a high school resume
- Monitor important dates and create a calendar
- Attend FSHS College, Career, & Military Fair Thursday, September 26, 2024
- Visit the Counselor's Office or Registrar's Office to get a copy of your GPA and Class Rank.
- Need to Request a high school transcript (you must be 18 years old, or a parent must complete the request form)
- Request Midland College Transcript if enrolled in dual credit
- Complete College Board Opportunity Scholarship
- Register with NCAA Eligibility Center (student-athletes only)
- Register with Play NAIA - Eligibility Center (student-athletes only)
- Complete TSIA2 Testing if enrolling in a Texas college or university - Check with admission office for each school's requirement
- Register for SAT and/or ACT in the fall. Prepare for SAT and/or ACT
- ACT School Day is October 30, 2024. See our newsletter for more information
- Research & narrow school choices between 5-10
- Use Apply Texas Application for Texas schools & Common Application for out-of-state schools, when possible. Reminder: you must be accepted before you can pick housing so don't wait!
- Write College Essays & begin requesting recommendation letters
- Apply to College Scholarships & Complete the Clearinghouse
- Complete FAFSA or TASFA (Financial Assistance - Opens December 1, 2024)
- Juniors and Seniors are excused from class for two school days to visit a College, University, or Trade School of choice
