Please do not drop off students in the bus drop-off area on Grove Street between 8:30 a.m.-9:05 a.m. It is difficult to get our buses into the area safely with cars pulling in and out. Thank you!

There has been an increase in strep cases and the Illinois Department of Public Health has created an informational flyer for parents. To help stop the spread, we encourage students to use proper hand hygiene and cough etiquette.

Please keep your student home when sick. Symptoms of strep typically include sore throat, pain when swallowing, red and swollen tonsils sometimes with white patches, fever, headache, and stomach ache.

For strep throat, your student needs to see a healthcare professional to get a lab test diagnosis and be prescribed an antibiotic. If diagnosed with strep throat they may return to school 24 hours after beginning antibiotic treatment and symptom improvement, including being fever free for 24 hours without the use of medications.

We are beginning the planning process for the 23-24 school year. Click this link to provide the school with any information you feel would be important as we consider placement for your child. Please know that the placement process for all of the Westgate students is extensive and well thought out. To that end, it is important to understand that requests for a specific teacher will not be considered, as allowing parents to request teachers puts a significant strain on an already extensive process. All staff members are committed to providing the best education for your children. This form is to be completed by Friday, April 21, 2023.

Crazy 8s is a recreational math club for elementary school students. Its goal is to raise a generation of students who love numbers. It is designed to be fun, social, and lead kids to bond over math in a whole new way.

The spring session of Crazy 8s Math Club will begin the week of April 3rd, 2023, and meet once a week, for 8 consecutive weeks. Crazy 8s Math Club is provided free of charge. During club sessions, math club members will discover patterns, solve mysteries, and create new learning. All activities will be NEW this spring, with no repeat lessons for returning participants. This is NOT a competitive club.

Lunch clubs will meet for 30 minutes during recess. After-school clubs will meet 3:40-4:30. Students in after-school clubs must have their own transportation home, no busing will be provided.

RACE TO REGISTER for the ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge on April 15, 2023! Join classmates, friends, family and staff to support the ABC/25 Foundation. You can run or walk the 5K or 1 Mile events or support the event by volunteering.
