Weekly Cougar News
ConVal High School Happenings - February 24, 2023
Message from Principal McKillop
Good Afternoon, Cougar Nation!
It is hard to believe that we just finished our last instructional week in February. In addition to the many learning opportunities that teachers and students shared in classrooms, we celebrated Spirit Week with different themes for each day, finishing up with the Unified vs. Staff basketball game in the gym earlier today.
In this newsletter, I would like to give a special shoutout to all our student athletes who have represented ConVal so well in various winter sports all season long. Chris Robbins was crowned DIII state champion last week; he and Tegan Lightfoot have both qualified for the Meet of Champions at Bedford High School tomorrow, February 25. Also tomorrow, Girls Ice Hockey will be celebrating its seniors at Keene Ice at 1:00 pm. On Tuesday, February 28, our Boys Basketball will host the first round of the NHIAA division II playoffs in the ConVal Gym. And on Wednesday, March 1, the Nordic Regional Championships will be held at Dublin School. Please come out to support our student athletes if you can.
Enjoy Winter Recess next week, and GO COUGARS!
Best,
Heather

Final Performance Tonight!
Love is all a tangle and no more so than at Theseus’s Roller Rink, in Athenz, U.S.A. Join the ConVal cast and crew as they time travel to the 1980s and try to solve the Rubik’s Cube of the body’s most important and mysterious muscle. Performance: Friday, February 24, at 7:00 pm. We regret that the original performances had to be rescheduled from last week due to unforeseen circumstances.
SPIRIT WEEK!
The spirit theme for Monday was dressing like a teacher/staff member... one student decided to dress like Principal McKillop!

Ms. Riendeau's Geometry Class
Students in Ms. Reindeau's Geometry class began their time in block 3 by reinforcing their knowledge of logical arguments by creating their own, then students worked either independently or in pairs to complete a test review. Ms. Riendeau and students were working on algebraic flow proofs when this photo was taken.
Ms. Young's Biology Honors
Students in Biology Honors participated in an in-depth study on how viruses have shaped human evolution by reading and summarizing an article, peer teaching, and a discussion that culminated in a creative summative assessment. Pictured are the results of students' silent written conversation after the discussion.
