Animal Welfare Needs Your Help!
The club is collecting towels, small blankets, and pillowcases for local animal shelters and animal organizations. Look for our collection boxes all around the first floor of the high school.
We’ll collect all through December!!
The club and the animals thank you!!!!!
Global Studies: Interested in an International Trip?
The Monomoy Global Studies Program is considering a possible trip to Rwanda in February 2025. We are checking to see if there is enough interest to proceed with developing a formal proposal.
Interested students should come Monday 12/11 to the Global Studies meeting Jawsome A in Mr. Dickson's room. This is open to both students already in the Global Studies program and students who hope to join the program in the future. If the student cannot attend the meeting, please email Mr. Dickson at jdickson@monomoy.edu to indicate your interest and/or ask questions,
MRHS Band Visits MRMS 5th Grade Band Class
On Tuesday, one of the two sections of high school band went to teach the 5th-grade band! A tradition Ms. Richard is thrilled to bring back!
Holiday House Making
Both Creative Writing II: Global Outlook and our Sandscript writing club are getting into the holiday spirit!!! Sandscript members continued their annual tradition of making holiday houses for which they will write a story or long poem; the writing will be about the person or creature that lives in the house they built.
The Creative Writing II class has been studying different cultures since September and also has been learning about the wars raging in the world today. CW students built holiday houses that represent difficult cultures. As student Tripp Gill suggested, "This is our Village of Peace." Students will write either a story or long poem that will capture the holiday season in that country. Our Peace Village, as well as the Sandscript houses, will go on display very soon downstairs in front of our library. The display will showcase the houses, stories, and poems from both groups.
VPA NEW YORK CITY TRIP
35 Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) students are in NYC for 3 days. On their trip, they will experience 2 Broadway shows, NYC Ballet Nutcracker, the Museum of the Moving Image, the Broadway Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a walking tour of Central Park, a tour of Lincoln Center, and 2 theater workshops!
Thank you from the Harwich Elementary PTO!
The Harwich Elementary PTO would like to give a shout-out to our High School Student Volunteers for helping us pull off another very successful Holiday Bazaar this past weekend! We absolutely appreciate you taking time out of your day to help spread some holiday joy with our Shark Families and Community! Thank you!
