TARDINESS
Showing up on time to grade school each day benefits students... Arriving late to school on a consistent basis can have longer-term academic effects. If showing late to school becomes a habit, students may develop the notion that tardiness is acceptable behavior.
MATURATION INFORMATION
As part of our comprehensive health education program and in attempt to inform students of impending body changes, a unit on Human Growth and Development will be presented to students in fifth grade this spring. This unit includes personal hygiene and care and body changes associated with puberty. Students will view the video titled, “Always Changing About You".
Given current Covid restrictions, all parent previews will be done by appointment only (this is not required), only one parent per household may attend, all in attendance must go through district health screening, wear a mask covering both the nose and mouth and follow physical distancing guidelines. You may also view the videos at your convenience online by searching “Always Changing About You (girls or boys only)” or the videos can be checked out to interested parents, subject to availability.
In order to opt your student out of this unit, you must obtain and complete an Opt-out form. These forms will be available at preview sessions, in the school office, or can be emailed directly to you upon request. Completed Opt-out forms must be returned to the school office prior to 3/4/22.
