More Than A Prom...
Dear GHS Community,
I must take a few moments to express how deeply we appreciated spending Saturday with your teens. For four years (three years for the juniors), we have watched your sweet children grow from wary 14-year-olds during a scary time (Covid) into these vivacious, confident, intelligent, and bravely unique young adults. Because they have watched us build their school programming, brick by brick, they show such authentic appreciation for anything extra we do for them. They see us in the office on Friday, then they see us bartending for them at the dance on Saturday (WOOHOO NORA!). They know what a small and mighty group we are and they showed immense appreciation on Saturday. We belted out Bohemian Rhapsody together and danced fiercely to both classic and modern music. Most chairs were empty because nearly every teen was dancing for three hours. It was everything Torre had envisioned in her planning with Nora and Stephanie. From the photo booth to the gift card giveaways to the prom court...it was an eventful evening for all of us. I nearly cried watching them ALL jump up and down together during a Chappell Roan song. We cannot thank you enough for allowing us to build such a precious community with your teens.
We will never forget this special group of young people.
Special Thank You: 231 Entertainment, Cobblestone Farms, and TORRE, NORA, and STEPHANIE for all of their work to make this event so very special.

NMC Student Success!
GOOD NEWS!!!
We had 33 10th-12th grade students take college classes last semester...totaling 67 spring classes. Of the 67 classes, 56 classes received grades ranging from 3.0 - 4.0. Considering our overall enrollment of 173 students, this represents 20% of GHS students finding success in post secondary programming.
We spent $61,000 on this endeavor this year...our highest yet!

10th Grade Sex Ed Begins on THIS MONDAY!
Dear Parent or Guardian,
As part of our health curriculum, your child is scheduled to receive instruction in human growth, development, and sexual education. We respect the role of parents as the primary educators of their children in these matters and recognize that families may have different perspectives and beliefs.
If you would like to opt out of the GHS Sexual Education Unit, the Opt Out form is located HERE.
If you have questions about the contents of our program, Abstinence Based Michigan Model for Health, please contact our sex ed guest teacher, Kate Liberacki at kate.liberacki97@gmail.com.
Student Policy Reminders
1. Please remember that GHS is professional setting. We do not use profanity during school hours, as we are trying to prepare you for a future career. In a professional setting, profanity is not an acceptable form of communication with your co-workers. We are a swear-free zone!
2. After School Supervision does not exist after 4pm. Now that the weather is nice, the last staff member to leave will encourage students to go outside to wait for their rides. Please remember NOT to use the first floor hallway- as this is not a part of GHS.
3. Please DO NOT bring wildlife into the school building. We are not equipped to care for these small animals while you're in class. Please leave them in the wild or take them to a rehabilitation program.

Farewell to Teacher, Isaac Dedenbach
Dear GHS Community,
Isaac Dedenbach, INED teacher, will not be returning to GHS in the fall, as he has accepted a position with TC West Middle School. We are so happy for him as he transitions into a position that feels like a better fit for his family's needs and we thank Isaac for everything he has done for GHS!
