Easley Weekly Update
Everything You Need to Know for the coming week.
April 10, 2022
a note from the principal
I hope everyone had a great first week back. This week is short as we are out of school on Thursday for a Teacher Workday and on Friday for the holiday.
ACTION NEEDED: Please Update Back to School Information for the 2022-2023
It’s time to update your student’s information and get ready for the 2022-23 school year. Now you can complete all of your back-to-school paperwork online quickly, easily, and securely. This is a great way to update your contact information, fill out forms, and stay connected with your school.
https://www.dpsnc.net/Page/4734
This is very important to complete, as your child’s bus transportation depends on you filling out this back to school information. Current transportation routes will not carry over to next year so it is important you provided updated information for the 2022-2023 school year. Please complete this information as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact Leah Rubow at leah_rubow@dpsnc.net
Durham Bulls Reading Program
Easley is participating in a new reading program through the Durham Bulls. Your child was sent home with a bookmark and parent information sheet before Spring Break. The program will begin on March 9th and end on April 20th. The goal is to hit a HOME RUN by reading for a total of 500 minutes. There are small prizes given for each “base” your child reaches. To earn these prizes, students must bring their bookmark (with a parent initials for each base they reach) to the library. After they have gotten all the bases initialed, they can turn in their bookmark signed by a parent to Ms. Hartley (the place for parent signature is on the front of the bookmark, bases are on the back). They will then earn a voucher for a Sunday home Durham Bulls game this season. Vouchers will be delivered in early May. The classroom in Durham Public Schools that has the most bookmarks filled out will receive a visit from Wool E. Bull himself!

Science Fair
Thank you to all of the students and families who participated in the Science Fair. The students had a wonderful time exploring all of the projects and listening to their peers present their projects. I want to give a shout out to Ms. Wilkerson and Mrs. Luke for organizing the Fair.

Just a reminder if one child in a household is home due to experiencing COVID symptoms, then all the siblings in that household should stay home until the child with the symptoms has a negative Covid test.
