East Elementary PBIS Expectation Videos
Discouraging Inappropriate Behavior
During the first few weeks of school, students will learn about the expectations and procedures in all settings of the school. They will also learn about the process taken when they do not follow the expectations. A student will be asked the following questions
- What are you doing?
- What should you be doing?
- What will you do next time?
- What is going to happen if you break our expectations again?
Step 1: Student is sent to the think spot in the classroom.
Step 2: Student is sent to the buddy room (a partner teacher's classroom).
Step 3: Student is sent to the counselor and parents are contacted.
Step 4: The student is sent to the principal for a major office referral.
These questions and consequences are no secret and are discussed and modeled for students. Students know exactly what to expect if they do not follow our school wide expectations.

Students will learn it's okay to make mistakes. They will learn from them and grow! We teach students our 1 - 2 - 3 Rule and how it can be used in any situation...on the playground, in the classroom, standing in line for lunch, etc. We also teach the Four Square Apology. We do not require students to apologize, but this tool can help them if they decide it's the best thing to do. Both of these posters are posted in each classroom and on each playground.
