Greetings Parents,

To further our anti-drug initiative, we are offering a couple of opportunities for you to further educate yourself on the culture surrounding these destructive habits. The first is a presentation called "Hidden in Plain Sight: Telling Their Secrets," offered by the Council on Alcoholism & Addictions of the Finger Lakes. The presentation will be held on April 5th at 5:30pm in the high school. This is an interactive, educational training designed to educate parents and adults about current substance use trends in teens and young adults. There is room for up to 30 participants; however, if interest exceeds that number then another presentation will be offered. This presentation includes the set-up of a mock child's bedroom in which parents will see first hand how drugs can be "hidden in plain sight." Another presentation is also being offered: "It's Legal, Now What? New Science on Cannabis, Lessons Learned after Legalization, and the Power of Parents and Prevention." This is a virtual presentation that will be held via Zoom on April 27th, from 6:30pm - 8:00pm, led by Jason R. Kilmer, Ph.D. of the University of Washington. Take the New York State Learner's Permit written test right here at HFL High School. We will provide you with all the necessary DMV forms and Driver's Manual. Stop by or call the Community Programs Office (624-7068) to schedule your exam.

The Honeoye Falls-Lima Alumni Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Hall of Fame Induction Class. The Hall of Fame was established in 1995 to recognize distinguished graduates of Honeoye Falls, Lima, and Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School Districts who have distinguished themselves with exceptional achievements and contributions to their school, community, and country. By recognizing these exceptional graduates, we can provide positive role models for the present-day students in the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District. Nominees, living or deceased, must be a graduate of Honeoye Falls, Lima, or Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School Districts and have graduated at least ten years prior to nomination. The nominee must have demonstrated significant contributions to their community and/or country, with emphasis on post-secondary achievements. The selection committee will follow an open nomination procedure with anyone eligible to nominate a qualified graduate. Please note that completed nomination packets are due May 1st. Nomination packets may be downloaded from the HF-L Website (www.hflcsd.org/page/hall-of-fame) or obtained in the District Office, 20 Church Street, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472. HFL Summer Soccer Registration is OPEN! The HFL Recreational Soccer League is an organization that welcomes any child in the community who wants to have fun and learn soccer. Our season runs Monday and Wednesday evenings July 6th - August 1st on the field behind Manor School. Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District has launched a new mobile app that helps students, parents, and community members know what is happening on campus, right from their phones.
