FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parent/Guardians,
Yesterday we celebrated one of the most consequential birthdays in the history of the world! Certainly, the only birthday more important is that of Jesus Himself. But yesterday we honored His mother, and our mother, too.
The Blessed Virgin Mary was born into our world without the stain of original sin. She was preserved from experiencing fallen human nature through the gift of her Immaculate Conception. Thus, she was the first to be born in the perfection of human nature after the fall, and she continued to experience this grace throughout her life, responding to God with her free will every step of the way.
All of us enjoy celebrating our birthdays. Children especially love it, but mostly, everyone looks forward to that special day each year when family and friends honor them and celebrate them in a special way. For that reason, we can be assured that even our Blessed Mother loved her birthday while here on earth and continues to enjoy this special celebration in Heaven. She, perhaps more than anyone, other than her divine Son, rejoiced on her birthday because of the deep spiritual gratitude she had to God for all that He did in her life.
As we honor the birthday of our Blessed Mother, it’s also an important opportunity for each of us to ponder the incredible blessings that God has bestowed upon each one of us.
I am very fortunate to share my own birthday with Mary, which to me is a real privilege. I also celebrated the birth of my godchild in Guatemala on September 1st - Vincent William. May he have a blessed life.
As we move into the swing of the school year we are seeing the students enjoying being back at school. It is great to see their smiley faces, eagerness to learn, and to socialize with their peers.
Thank You
I wish to thank everyone for following our mitigation plan, checking on the health of your children, and making the right decisions when they feel sick. Working together is the only way we can overcome COVID-19.
Guatemala Appeal
We launched our Guatemala Appeal on September 1st and the appeal will run for the month of September. Please review the brochure attached.
Sports
Our volleyball and baseball season is starting with strict protocols set by the school and the PPSL. Please follow these as the season gets underway.
School Website
We are in the process of revamping our school website and it will be launched soon. It will be more mobile-friendly.
Title I
I am pleased to announce that Title I funds will be used again to hire a Learning Resource Teacher. We are able to carry over funds from the previous year. We have interviewed a candidate and she will start very shortly. Title funds are from the federal government which is distributed to the state, which then allocates to the local school district.
God Bless,
