Veterans Day Assembly Photos Due to Mrs. Plesia By October 19
Due to the large number of photos received each year, each participating family will have ONE slide with a collage of photos and names (if you have multiple veterans in your family). If you would like a photo added to the presentation for this year’s United States Veterans Tribute OR the Veterans Around the World Tribute, please email Mrs. Plesia before OCTOBER 20, 2023.
If you have sent pictures over the past years, Mrs. Plesia still has them (unless there was a year or more gap in your child(ren)’s enrollment at Henry). If they were included in last year’s presentation, they have been kept for this year’s presentation. Mrs. Plesia will add new siblings to the files, but it helps if you remind her with an email.
If you have a veteran willing to come to the live assembly, we will have special seating for them in front of the children performing for them, and a moment to have them introduce themselves! Please RSVP any veteran guests by emailing Mrs. Plesia a week before the event. The assembly will be held on Friday, November 10 at 2:30 p.m. in the Henry Gym. Space is VERY limited, so only visiting veterans and family members can be seated in the gym with all of our teachers and students. See the flyer below for additional information.

Visitor and Volunteer Information
A Parkway volunteer is an individual who has an opportunity to be alone with a student.
A Parkway visitor is an individual in a school for a limited period of time who does not have the opportunity to be alone with a student.
Parkway Volunteers must go through the background check process outlined below.
Parkway Visitors do not need to go through the background check process.
Per Missouri Statute 168.133, those who wish to volunteer must complete a fingerprint
background check through the Missouri State Highway Patrol and FBI. The cost for the
background check is $41.75 and is the responsibility of the volunteer. Please reach out if you
need assistance. The background check will remain current as long as a volunteer stays active.
If a year passes, the volunteer will need to complete and pay for another background check.
Volunteers may complete the App Garden/TransAct (Parkway volunteer tracking software) now. Use this link to start App Garden/TransAct Application. It can take volunteers anywhere from 4-6 weeks to be approved so please do not delay if you plan to assist in the coming months.
